POSITION SUMMARY: Administer the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) Department including full-cycle recruiting including onboarding, benefits administration, leave management, and policy enforcement This role supports all positions at all Alsum Companies, ensuring a compliant, efficient, and employee-focused HR function. Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage full-cycle recruiting, including job postings, sourcing, phone screens, interview coordination, and offer letter preparation.
- Support workforce planning efforts, including seasonal and migrant labor needs.
- Attend and assist with career fairs, community outreach, and recruiting events.
- Maintain and update job descriptions in partnership with hiring managers.
- Serve as a resource for employees and supervisors regarding HR policies, procedures, and employee concerns.
- Partner with the Human Resource Manager to address employee relations issues, conduct investigations, and support resolution.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including those impacting agricultural and seasonal workforces.
- Maintain accurate and compliant employee records in both HRIS and personnel files.
- Complete employment verification requests.
- Process and administer employee separations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
- Coordinate and administer onboarding processes, including new hire paperwork, drug screens, and orientation.
- Conduct new hire orientations and ensure a positive onboarding experience.
- Create and maintain employee identification badges.
- Assist employees with HRIS access and utilization.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, and open enrollment audits within HRIS.
- Process and manage employee leaves, including FMLA, personal leave, and short- and long-term disability.
- Coordinate the annual Health Risk Assessment and wellness initiatives.
- Serve as Chairperson of the Wellness Committee, including planning, leading, and documenting activities.
- Maintain and ensure accuracy of the Human Resource Information System (HRIS).
- Ensure proper filing, recordkeeping, and electronic documentation of all HR files.
- Participate in social compliance and other audits to ensure compliance with labor and ethical standards.
- Support continuous improvement of HR processes and systems.
- Assist with migrant camp operations, including applications, inspections, and upkeep coordination.
- Partner with operations to support workforce needs across multiple locations and seasonal cycles.
- Partner with the Safety Coordinator and leadership to support workplace safety programs and compliance efforts.
- Assist with documentation related to workplace incidents, workers’ compensation claims, and return-to-work processes.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support HR and business operations.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field
- Two – five years’ experience in Human Resources role or related field
- Combination of education and experience will also be considered
- SHRM Certification preferred
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- Experience with multi-site or field-based workforce environments.

- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices.
- Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HRIS platforms.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Ability to travel between locations as needed.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable motor vehicle record.
PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to sit, stand, walk and occasionally stoop, bend or reach
- Must wear necessary PPE (safety glasses and hearing protection) in designated areas
- Ability to work in different environments including office environment, production areas and outside such as farms where temperatures and conditions will vary
