We are seeking a hands-on People Operations Generalist to support day-to-day HR functions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role serves as a trusted partner to employees and supervisors, with a strong focus on employee relations, compliance, and people support, while also contributing to recruiting, onboarding, training, and performance management.
This individual will play a key role in fostering a respectful, engaged, and high-performing workplace culture and will serve as a champion for building and sustaining a Great Place to Work environment across both lab and field teams.
Employee Relations & People Support
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions and workplace concerns
- Partner with supervisors to address performance, attendance, conduct, and conflict resolution
- Provide coaching to leaders on communication, people management, and policy application
- Support investigations and ensure consistent, fair, and well-documented outcomes
- Assist with disciplinary actions and terminations in compliance with policy and law
Operations & Workforce Support
- Provide on-site HR support for hourly and salaried manufacturing employees
- Support remote operations for the Arizona lab location, including periodic travel (up to 20%)
- Partner with leadership to balance production needs with strong people practices
- Promote safety, engagement, and accountability on the production floor
Talent & HR Administration
- Support recruiting efforts including job postings, screening, and interview coordination
- Coordinate onboarding to ensure a positive new hire experience
- Maintain HRIS data accuracy and employee records
- Assist with benefits administration and employee inquiries
- Track and report HR metrics (turnover, attendance, hiring data)
Training & Development
- Support onboarding and ongoing training initiatives
- Identify development needs within the manufacturing environment
- Assist in coordinating leadership and compliance training
Compliance & Engagement
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Support consistent policy administration
- Lead employee engagement initiatives, surveys, and recognition programs
- Participate in HR projects and continuous improvement efforts
Qualifications
- 5+ years of HR Generalist or People Operations experience (manufacturing preferred)
- Strong background in employee relations and workforce support
- Bachelor’s degree required; PHR or SHRM-CP preferred
- Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to travel up to 20% (overnight)
