Food Runner - 1878 On the Lake (Seasonal) – Restaurant / Food & Beverage Support

Join our team as a Seasonal Food Runner and play an essential role in delivering a seamless and timely dining experience for our guests. In this fast-paced support position, you’ll work closely with kitchen and service teams to ensure food is delivered accurately, efficiently, and with excellent presentation. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy teamwork, hospitality, and working in a high-energy restaurant environment.

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver food orders from the kitchen to guest tables quickly and accurately 
  • Ensure all menu items are properly plated and presented before delivery 
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff and servers to ensure orders are complete before running food 
  • Serve as a communication link between the kitchen (cooks) and front-of-house staff (servers) 
  • Assist servers by delivering beverages, condiments, and additional items as needed 
  • Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction and communicate any additional needs to servers 
  • Remove used dishes and assist with table maintenance when necessary 
  • Restock and maintain service stations, expo areas, and kitchen pass-through areas 
  • Assist with explaining specials and supporting guest questions when appropriate 
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in all assigned work areas
Requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous food runner or restaurant experience preferred (not required) 
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills 
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment 
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and guest satisfaction 
  • Positive attitude and willingness to support the team wherever needed 
  • Ability to take direction and stay organized during busy service periods 
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time 
  • Ability to carry and balance food trays weighing up to 30–40 lbs 
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive motion 
  • Ability to move quickly and safely through busy dining areas 

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced restaurant and resort dining environment 
  • High guest interaction and constant coordination with kitchen and service teams 
  • Exposure to moderate noise levels and busy service rushes 
  • Requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak seasonal periods 
  • Active role requiring continuous movement and multitasking
