Banquet Cook (Seasonal) – Culinary / Event Production

Join our team as a Seasonal Banquet Cook and play a key role in preparing high-quality food for banquet events and special functions. In this fast-paced culinary position, you’ll be responsible for executing menu items based on banquet event orders (BEOs), maintaining food quality standards, and supporting large-scale event production. What You’ll Do

  • Prepare hot and cold menu items for banquet events according to function sheets and BEO specifications 
  • Review and confirm daily banquet production needs with the Chef or Sous Chef 
  • Execute food preparation tasks including cutting, slicing, dicing, peeling, and portioning ingredients 
  • Organize and prioritize banquet food production to ensure timely event execution 
  • Maintain proper food storage, labeling, and dating to ensure freshness and reduce waste 
  • Follow recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines for banquet service 
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of all work areas, including tables, shelving, and refrigeration units 
  • Monitor inventory and assist in ensuring all required food items are prepared and available for events 
  • Communicate with culinary leadership regarding station status and production needs 
  • Assist with general kitchen duties and support other culinary areas as needed 
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and kitchen operational procedures 
  • Complete closing duties and ensure proper kitchen reset after service
Requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent required 
  • Minimum of 1 year of cooking experience required 
  • Strong knife skills and basic culinary technique required 
  • Ability to read and execute banquet event orders (BEOs) accurately 
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills 
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment 
  • Team-oriented with strong communication skills 
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to follow direction from culinary leadership 
  • Must be 18 years of age or older 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time 
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs regularly 
  • Frequent bending, reaching, chopping, and repetitive motion 
  • Ability to work in hot kitchen environments for long durations 

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced banquet and event-driven kitchen environment 
  • High-volume food production for weddings, conferences, and special events 
  • Exposure to heat, kitchen equipment, and sharp tools 
  • Team-oriented setting requiring constant communication and coordination 
  • Requires flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays, and peak event seasons
