The Packaging Team Member is responsible for the efficient operation of cheese packaging equipment and processes, including cutting, accurately filling, and securing products for shipment to customers. This role require strong collaboration with all departments and willingness to learn and assist in other areas as needed. Safety must be practiced at all times. 

We are looking for dependable individuals who are eager to learn and grow in the dairy food industry. 

Pay & Schedule

• Starting Pay: $18.00 per hour
• Increase to $19.50 per hour after 120 days
• Shift: 1st Shift
• Hours: 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM 
• Schedule: Monday - Friday 
• No weekends (overtime as needed; occasional Saturdays)

Duties and Responsibilities

• Understand and perform setup and cleanup operations of the packaging line
• Accurately cut bulk cheese blocks weighing up to 50 lbs
• Maintain line speed as directed by the supervisor
• Inspect weight and seal integrity of retail cheese packages
• Accurately package 7.5 oz to 50 lb products into appropriate boxes
• Ensure proper labeling of all products per order specifications
• Understand sanitation procedures within the Packaging Department
• Accurately record production and quality data
• Maintain open communication with all departments
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work area in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
• Follow all company policies and procedures
• Perform all duties as assigned

Required

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Strong dependability and punctuality
• Ability to read, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions
• Ability to understand, speak, read, and write in English 
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Basic computer skills preferred; training provided
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Eagerness to learn and work in the dairy and food industry

Physical Demands

• Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50+ lbs
• Ability to stand for up to 10 hours per shift

Work Environment

Food manufacturing plant environment. Must follow all food safety and plant safety policies and regulations. Exposure to cleaning chemicals is required as part of sanitation duties.
