Description

This is a rare opportunity to step into a company at an inflection point and define what it becomes. Reporting to the President, the Head of Product will own Foundation Source’s product organization across multiple platforms and verticals, lead a team of 15+, and drive a platform modernization agenda already in motion. You are not inheriting a finished system. You are shaping and finishing it.


Foundation Source’s product portfolio is organized across three core verticals, each with a distinct strategic mandate and leadership structure:

Private Foundation Software

  • Stabilize and modernize core platforms while elevating the client experience and reducing technical debt 

Donor-Advised Fund Software

  • Deliver the next-generation giving platform and accelerate growth in a rapidly evolving market 

Planned Giving Software (Endowments)

  • Advance key platform capabilities and modernize development and delivery to support long-term scale 

You will set the vision, build the operating model, and drive execution across this complex, multi-product environment at the intersection of fintech, philanthropy, and enterprise software — with direct exposure to executive leadership, private equity ownership, and the board.


Key Responsibilities:

Product Strategy & Vision (25%)

  • Own and define the integrated product vision across all platforms and initiatives 
  • Translate business priorities, market dynamics, and client needs into a clear, credible roadmap 
  • Make and stand behind prioritization decisions across competing investments 
  • Communicate direction with clarity and conviction across executive, client, and team audiences

Team Leadership & Organizational Development (25%)

  • Lead and elevate a team of ~20 product professionals across product management, design, and operations 
  • Build a high-performance culture grounded in ownership, accountability, and execution 
  • Raise the bar on product management discipline and cross-functional partnership 
  • Assess and build the team structure required to scale 

Platform Execution & Delivery (20%)

  • Drive delivery of critical platform initiatives with accountability to outcomes 
  • Partner closely with Engineering to improve velocity, reduce technology debt, and increase release reliability 
  • Establish a strong operating rhythm across product and engineering 

Cross-Functional Alignment & Stakeholder Management (15%)

  • Align Product with Sales, Client Services, and Enterprise Solutions on priorities and execution 
  • Represent product in executive planning, investor discussions, and strategic initiatives 
  • Connect product decisions to revenue growth, client retention, and market differentiation 

Client Operations & Platform Enablement (10%)

  • Oversee Product Support as strategic inputs to product direction 
  • Improve service quality, resolution efficiency, and feedback loops into the roadmap 
  • Develop and deploy self-service client support tools
  • Use client and operational signals to inform prioritization and platform health 

Operational Excellence (5%)

  • Establish clear operating cadence, visibility, and accountability across product 
  • Implement reporting that provides leadership with clear insight into progress, risks, and outcomes 
  • Ensure product operations drive execution, not just reporting 
Requirements

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • 12+ years in product management, including senior leadership ownership 
  • Proven ability to set strategy and drive execution in SaaS or platform-based businesses
  • Experience working with large, complex financial institutions
  • Experience leading complex, multi-product environments 
  • Track record of building and scaling high-performing product organizations 
  • Strong cross-functional leadership across Engineering, Sales, and Client teams 
  • Executive-level communication and decision-making capability 

Strongly Preferred

  • Experience in fintech, philanthropy, or adjacent industries 
  • Familiarity with payments, ledger systems, fund administration or financial platforms 
  • Experience working across legacy and modernized platforms 
  • Background in platform consolidation or post-acquisition environments
