Vitana is seeking a Technical SEO Specialist to support the execution of search engine optimization and website technical operations across our growing portfolio of pediatric dental and orthodontic practices.

This role is primarily executional and will work under the direction of the Director of Search & Content Strategy. The Technical SEO Specialist will be responsible for implementing the technical components of Vitana’s search strategy across both new website builds and existing practice websites.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with technical SEO, local search optimization, and WordPress websites. They enjoy diagnosing technical issues, implementing structured improvements, and supporting multi-location websites that rely on strong local search visibility.

This role plays a critical part in building and maintaining the technical infrastructure that supports organic growth across Vitana’s digital ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Technical SEO Implementation

Execute the technical components of Vitana’s SEO strategy across practice websites.

Responsibilities include:

• Conduct technical SEO audits using tools such as Screaming Frog and SEMrush
• Diagnose and resolve crawl, indexation, and site architecture issues
• Implement structured data and schema markup (Local Business, FAQ, Organization, etc.)
• Optimize metadata and on-page technical elements based on target keywords and semantic search intent
• Monitor keyword rankings, crawl health, and indexation status across practice websites
• Support internal reporting and performance monitoring related to organic search visibility

Website Technical Operations

Support the technical SEO components of website builds, launches, and ongoing website improvements.

Responsibilities include:

• Plan and implement redirect strategies for website migrations (301 redirects and page mapping)
• Support website launch QA processes to ensure SEO readiness
• Ensure proper indexing, canonicalization, and internal linking structure
• Collaborate with internal marketing team members and external web development partners to implement SEO recommendations
• Assist with technical SEO improvements across both new website builds and legacy websites

Local Search Infrastructure

Support local search visibility for multi-location dental practices.

Responsibilities include:

• Monitor and maintain local SEO performance for practice locations
• Assist with citation and directory consistency across listings platforms
• Support backlink and authority-building initiatives
• Monitor local search rankings and map pack visibility

Emerging Search Technologies

Support the technical foundations that influence modern search discovery, including AI-driven search and entity-based SEO.

Responsibilities include:

• Implement structured data and entity-based optimization techniques
• Support technical strategies that strengthen brand visibility across search and AI-driven discovery platforms

Required Experience

• 3–5 years of experience in SEO, with hands-on technical SEO responsibilities
• Experience implementing technical SEO improvements on WordPress websites
• Strong understanding of crawlability, indexation, redirects, canonicalization, and site architecture
• Experience with technical SEO tools such as Screaming Frog, SEMrush, Ahrefs, or similar platforms
• Familiarity with structured data and schema markup implementation
• Experience monitoring keyword rankings and search performance metrics
• Strong attention to detail and ability to execute technical tasks accurately

Preferred Experience

• Experience with local SEO or multi-location businesses
• Experience working with healthcare, dental, or professional services brands
• Familiarity with WordPress SEO plugins such as RankMath or Yoast
• Experience managing directory listings or citation platforms such as BrightLocal or Yext
• Exposure to entity-based SEO or emerging AI search technologies
