Physical Education Teacher Assistant - Part Time
Description

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Assist the PE Teacher in planning and implementing age-appropriate physical education activities and lessons 
  • Supervise students during classes, recess, and athletic activities to ensure safety and positive behavior 
  • Set up and take down equipment for classes, games, and events 
  • Support inclusive participation for all students, including those with varying abilities 
  • Reinforce rules, routines, and sportsmanship consistent with Catholic values 
  • Provide individual or small group support as directed by the teacher 
  • Monitor and report student progress or behavioral concerns to the PE Teacher 
  • Assist PE/Athletics as a practice or game site director as needed 
  • Assist PE/Athletics in ensuring compliance with diocesan policies 
  • Assist PE/Athletics in coordinating the calendar of the school facilities with the church 
  • Help manage PE/Athletics inventory, equipment, and uniforms 
  • Foster an environment that emphasizes Catholic values, sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth through physical activity and competition 
  • Ensure a safe, inclusive, and faith-centered experience for all students 
  • Maintain Faith Integration and Mission Alignment 
  • Assist with school athletic events, field days, and after school practices and games 
  • Maintain organization, cleanliness, and inventory of gym equipment & uniforms and storage areas 
  • Help promote student participation in athletics with an emphasis on character development and team/personal growth 
  • Assist with the communication of PE/Athletics throughout the school community 
  • Follow all diocesan policies regarding student safety, supervision, and conduct 
  • Be a positive role model for students, athletes, coworkers, and parents in attitude and effort 
  • Any other responsibilities designated by the PE teacher or Principal  
Requirements

 

Qualifications:  

  • Preferred practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church.  
  • Preferred experience in athletic administration, coaching, or youth sports leadership.  
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.  
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends, as required.  
  • CPR/First Aid certification  
  • Safe Environment Training and background check clearance.  
  • Complete all FHSAA Courses as required; Heat Illness, Concussion, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, & Sportsmanship

  • Combination of office, gymnasium, and outdoor environments.
