Human Resources Generalist

Position Summary

The HR Generalist supports day-to-day human resources administration and generalist functions across the company under the direction of the HR Director. This role assists with employee support, onboarding, HR records, payroll and benefits administration, timekeeping processes, and consistent execution of HR policies and procedures across all locations.


In addition to HR responsibilities, this position supports company safety and fleet compliance efforts, including safety documentation, incident tracking, branch safety observations, driver-related recordkeeping, and administration of the Samsara fleet management system.


This role requires regular travel to branch locations to support employees and managers, assist with HR and safety consistency, and maintain visibility across the company. The position also supports a well-organized and professional office environment by maintaining supply inventory and ensuring conference rooms and common areas are appropriately stocked.

Human Resources Duties (Primary Focus)

  • Serve as a day-to-day HR resource for employees and branch managers across all locations
  • Work with the HR Director to coordinate and execute onboarding for new hires to ensure a consistent experience across branches
  • Respond to employee questions related to policies, benefits, and general HR matters, providing timely responses and escalating to the HR Director when appropriate
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR systems
  • Assist with payroll, benefits administration, and timekeeping processes
  • Ensure consistent execution of HR policies and procedures across all locations
  • Travel to branch locations as needed to support employees, assist managers, and ensure consistent HR practices across the company

Safety & Compliance Duties

  • Support the implementation and consistency of company safety programs across all locations
  • Conduct routine safety inspections and observations during branch visits
  • Track and report workplace incidents, injuries, and near misses
  • Maintain safety records and assist with compliance documentation
  • Coordinate and support safety training and communication across the company
  • Partner with branch managers to reinforce safe practices and accountability
  • Support fleet safety compliance, including maintaining driver records, tracking required documentation, and assisting with incident reporting
  • Assist with monitoring driver-related safety items such as MVRs, certifications, and required updates
  • Administer and maintain Samsara fleet management system, including tracking data, supporting reporting, and ensuring system accuracy

Office & Administrative Support

  • Support a well-organized and professional office environment by maintaining supply inventory, coordinating ordering, and ensuring conference rooms and common areas are appropriately stocked


Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ years of experience in HR, administrative support, or related role
  • Basic knowledge of employment practices and workplace safety requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR)
  • Experience supporting safety programs or compliance efforts
  • Experience with HRIS systems and/or fleet management tools (e.g., Samsara)

Salary Description
$75,000.00-$85,000.00
