Training Specialist
Description

 The purpose of the Training Specialist is to ensure that all training in the Smithfield facility follows an adult learner, high quality, standard process – while being responsible for holding everyone accountable for needed / required training. This role will be the focal point for all training and will focus on teamwork and accountability. The position results will be responsible for improved overall new hire retention and satisfaction, improve team member’s knowledge & skill, reduce tacit knowledge through good knowledge transfer, and improve productivity while reducing cost. 

 

· Coordinates PDS and compliance training   programs for all hourly employees

· Implements both technical and   non-technical skills training for CTEs and  instructs CTEs utilizing the Train the Trainer   curriculum

· Oversees the implementation of the   visual management system at the facility by creating training plans for all hourly   positions on all production lines / in all areas

· Oversees the implementation of the   team training matrix (including cross training and rotation schedule)

· Inputs training activities and   certifications into LMS for the facility

· Coordinates and conducts portions of   new hire orientation as defined by HR Manager

· Creates sustainable feedback process   for new hires; share with local management team

· Ensure all training records are   complete for all new hires and prior to any transfers and/or promotions

· Attend ongoing PDS training   (including at least four Kaizen events annually)

· Support Training and Development   department as required

· Plant support as needed; other duties   as assigned

Requirements

            

Technical Requirements

 

Adult   teaching methodology

Curriculum   design/creation

Facilitation,   including stand up speaking skills

6   month - 1 year experience in teaching, training, facilitation, etc.

Must   be bi-lingual in Spanish

 

Knowledge/Experience:

 6 months to 1 year teaching, training, facilitation, etc.

 

Education Requirement: 

 High School Diploma/GED

College  degree   preferred

 

Special Skills 

 Knowledge   of Microsoft office 

Facilitation   skills

Basic   math skills

Superior   communication skills

People   orientation

Bi-lingual   in English and Spanish
