About Us
Vineland Modern Dentistry is part of Stride Dental Group, a fast-growing multi-location dental organization built on high standards, team accountability, and an exceptional patient experience. We run a high-volume, full-service practice and we take our clinical culture seriously. We are looking for a Lead DA who raises the bar, not one who needs constant supervision to meet it.
The Role
This is a leadership position, not just a clinical one. The Lead DA is the clinical backbone of the operatory floor. You will assist our doctors with a full range of procedures, mentor and hold accountable junior assistants, and ensure every patient interaction is handled with professionalism and care. You will be expected to show up every day ready to perform at a high level without excuses.
If you are looking for a laid-back environment where standards are flexible and accountability is optional, this is not the right place for you. If you take pride in your craft, hold yourself to a high standard, and want to grow within a practice that rewards results, keep reading.
What You Will Do
• Assist the doctor chairside on all procedure types including restorative, extractions, implants, crown and bridge, endo, and ortho
• Take high-quality radiographs (FMX, pano, bitewings, CBCT) with minimal retakes
• Perform intraoral scanning and assist with treatment planning documentation
• Set up, break down, and sterilize operatories to OSHA and infection control standards without exception
• Manage instrument and supply inventory and alert on restocking needs proactively
• Lead and mentor 1-2 junior dental assistants, setting the tone for clinical standards and professional conduct
• Step in to resolve workflow bottlenecks and keep the schedule moving efficiently
• Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, doctors, and front office staff
• Document clinical notes accurately and promptly in the practice management software
• Participate in morning huddles and team meetings and contribute meaningfully
Compensation and Benefits
• Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience
• Performance-based bonus program tied to team and individual metrics
• Paid time off and holidays
• Continuing education support and licensure renewal assistance
• Team culture that recognizes and rewards excellence
What We Require
Non-negotiables. Do not apply if you cannot meet every item on this list.
• Minimum 3 years of dental assisting experience in a general or multi-specialty practice
• Florida Dental Assisting license or current DANB CDA certification
• Current Radiation Safety / X-ray certification (Florida-compliant)
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Demonstrated experience assisting on complex procedures, not just hygiene support or basic restorative
• Proficiency with digital X-ray systems and practice management software (Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or equivalent)
• A verifiable track record of consistent attendance and reliability
• The ability to lead peers with confidence and maturity, not just follow direction
What Will Set You Apart
• Experience with intraoral scanning (iTero, Medit, or similar)
• Familiarity with implant systems and surgical assist protocols
• Prior lead or senior DA title with documented supervisory responsibility
• Experience in a DSO or multi-location group practice environment
• Strong working knowledge of CDT coding and clinical documentation
What We Expect From Everyone on This Team
These are not aspirational values on a wall poster. These are the minimum standard of conduct for every team member at Vineland Modern Dentistry.
• You are on time. Every day. Without being reminded.
• You take ownership of your work and do not make excuses when something goes wrong.
• You treat every patient with professionalism and warmth, regardless of how busy the schedule is.
• You contribute to a team environment. Drama, gossip, and negativity are not tolerated.
• You follow clinical and administrative protocols consistently, not selectively.
• You are coachable. High standards require continuous improvement and you welcome feedback.
Only candidates who meet the minimum requirements listed above will be contacted.
