Under the direction of Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Associate handles incoming and outgoing shipments. Hours are 8:30am - 5:00pm.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.
• Unload trucks, receive and put away incoming material in assigned staging lanes
• Perform all material handling related functions involved in the movement of product through the warehouse.
• Process paperwork according to proper procedures.
• Assist drivers or local crews with unloading and loading of orders on appropriate staged trailers or live loads as required.
• Respond to urgent requests and ensure all other receipts are completed in the order in which material was delivered.
• Inspect material for defects; documenting any OSD items.
• Ensuring that all the merchandise is safely and securely packed and/or labeled.
• Managing all merchandise with appropriate care.
• Continuously identify and eliminate safety hazards or quality issues.
• Daily housekeeping duties as assigned.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management staff.
• Must possess a minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Forklift experience is preferred.
• Preferred 1-2 years of work experience working in a warehouse or experience moving & storage or the transportation industry; knowledge of household goods a must.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Must be able to regularly lift and move objects weighing 50lbs, occasionally 75lbs.
• Willingness to work extended and weekend hours as needed.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend all documents proficiently.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Proficient in use of Microsoft Excel, Word and Windows-based programs.
• Ability to work with a team and foster teamwork.
