Description

WORKING SCHEDULE

The Valley Iron Inc. Vacaville facility is open five days per week. 

This position will work from 11:00 AM - 9:00 PM - Monday thru Friday


RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Provide and promote a safe working environment and culture to Company standards. Must maintain a safe workplace without risk
  • Supervise and direct night crew personnel ensuring there is adequate staff while managing employee overtime
  • Ensure all orders pulled are accurate
  • Facilitate proper and correct loading of material on truck(s)
  • Ensure all trucks are loaded within legal weight limits and axles
  • Route all deliveries daily
  • Prepare all delivery receipts and MTR’s (material test reports) for the following day deliveries
  • Responsible for all back orders on daily delivery receipts
  • Adjust piece counts and footages on daily delivery receipts
  • Responsible for noting on daily paperwork any changes made by drivers in the field. Make delivery changes in computer.
  • Lock and secure all equipment and facility each night
  • Assist Shipping Supervisor with truck maintenance and repairs, truck fueling, and daily driver assignments
  • Participate in selection and pre-employment process for new employees
  • Communicate and follow established Company human resource procedures. Ongoing communication with Human Resource Manager regarding employee issues, i.e., employee counseling, disciplinary action, training, etc.
  • Write and present employee initial evaluations and annual reviews
  • Participate in monthly facility safety inspections per California SB 198
  • Attend all monthly safety meetings. Present a minimum of one safety meeting per calendar year
  • Maintain organization, efficiency and cleanliness for warehouse #1, rem area, and pallet work areas
  • Acceptance of additional job responsibilities in the absence of other supervisors
  • Efficient and cost-effective use of manpower and equipment to maximize profit to Valley Iron Inc.

SAFETY

Safety is a high priority! The Night Crew Supervisor will be expected to observe, follow, maintain, model, and reinforce all Company mandated safety rules and regulations and established procedures at the Vacaville facility. Respond to all health and safety issues involving any employee in a timely manner. All Supervisors are required to coach and/or discipline any employee in the safe practices and procedures established at Valley Iron.



Requirements

  

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Leadership, and ability to get along well with others
  • Broad knowledge of all carbon, stainless steel, and aluminum products
  • Industrial equipment and machinery background
  • Self-motivated, organizational skills, and excellent attendance record
  • Working knowledge of computers
  • Strong English skills, i.e., speak, read, write and understand English. Spanish helpful, but not required
  • 3 to 5 years in an operations warehouse management position or shipping related role.
  • Previous experience operating sit down forklifts with large, heavy loads preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • 70% in an office setting 30% outdoors in the elements, such as cold, heat, rain, wind, etc.
  • Noise level may vary
  • May be exposed to various chemical fumes and airborne particles
  • Occasional lifting of up to 75 lbs.
  • Physically demanding position requiring several different types of body movements. Some requirements include standing and walking continuously (80-100%) throughout the day over a 20+ acre parcel on concrete, asphalt, and uneven dirt surfaces. Occasional sitting during the workday.

 Pay: From  72,000.00 DOE
