Supervisor for Adult Services 3 Bed Personal Care Alternative

One Full-Time Position. 40+ hours per week.

This position oversees a 24/7 program. Organizational office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, but the schedule for this role will vary and requires flexibility to work outside of these hours. 

Hiring Range: $22.52 - $24.55 / hr., depending upon education and experience.

This position will remain open until filled.


Minimum Requirements

Required: 

• High School Diploma or equivalent, minimum age 18.

• Two years’ experience working with the adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. 

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field.

• Two or more years of experience successfully working with the I/DD population.

• Two years supervisory experience at hire.

• One year experience supervising in a residential setting.

Position Summary

The Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the 3 bed Personal Care Alternative (PCA) Program. 


Ariel Clinical Services Mission

To provide safe, nurturing, and supportive environments for children, families, and adults so that they may have the opportunities to develop their strengths, maximize their potentials, and fully participate in society.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Responsible for the overall health and welfare of persons receiving services. 

2. Assist in developing and monitoring yearly budget and monthly financials including timely and accurate billing.

3. Provide direct supervision of employees including hiring, training, supervision, time card approval, job performance reviews, and corrective action plans. 

4. Ensure that facilities are clean, safe, and in good repair, and arrange for any needed maintenance. 

5. Set employee work hours and schedules, handle employee complaints and grievances – with a means of resolution.

6. Implement and maintain Agency Standard Operating Procedures and any governing rules and regulations.

7. Facilitate the development of opportunities and community inclusion/integration for persons receiving 

services (PRS). 

8. Assist in developing and/or monitoring of treatment plans, assessments, and goals pertinent to persons receiving services. 

9. Monitor and measure outcomes of persons receiving services and programs to ensure compliance with the standards set forth by the organization. 

10. Monitor and assess needs and progress of residents.

11. Adhere to the accounting calendar and approve employee timecards.

12. Ensures quality coordinated care that meets the regulatory standards.


Additional Duties and Responsibilities 

1. Must work closely with other Ariel programs.

2. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

1. The ability to effectively supervise Direct Care Professionals on a routine basis.

2. The ability to maintain a positive outlook. 

3. The ability to effectively communicate verbally and in written format in both individual and group settings to all parties involved in persons receiving service’s care.

4. The ability to be reliable and dependable with attendance. 

5. Must be available outside of traditional office hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary to perform the functions of the position.

6. Ability to be flexible and to change direction rapidly in response to client and program needs.

7. Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, complete a wide variety of tasks in a timely and accurate fashion and direct others, as needed.

8. Basic computer knowledge.

9. Exercise independent judgment within the scope and boundaries of the department, the Agency’s Standard Operating Procedures, and Federal, State and Local Rules and Regulations regarding department operations.

10. Knowledge of community resources (social, public agency, and information) in order to assist persons receiving services in accessing these resources.

11. Ability to provide reliable, insured transportation for self and others through the community served.

12. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality concerning the person receiving services, their family, background, treatment.

13. Ability to demonstrate and promote collaboration and a team environment.

14. Ability to maintain personal and professional boundaries while establishing trustworthy and beneficial relationships.


Education and Experience

Required: 

• High School Diploma or equivalent, minimum age 18.

Certifications/Licenses

Required:

1. Valid Colorado Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.

2. CPR, First Aid – before contact with clients.

3. CPI – within 60 days of hire, may not be left unsupervised w Participate in ongoing program evaluation to ensure program effectiveness.

4. Informed Supervision –deviant sexual behaviors training - within 60 days of hire, may not be left unsupervised with clients until this training is completed. 

5. QMAP – (Medical Administration Certification) within 60 days of hire, may not provide medication to clients without this certification.

6. BSIT

7. Person-Centered Training

8. Client Specific training on individuals in the PCA program.

9. Van Drivers Training – before driving Ariel owned vehicles.


Supervisory Responsibilities

Provides direct supervision of Direct Support Professional Staff (DSP), and the Lead DSP.


Physical Demands

1. This position requires that the incumbent be capable of bending, sitting, stretching, and/or reaching regularly for periods up to two hours without a break. 

2. This position requires that the incumbent have adequate hand and finger dexterity to properly perform the functions of the position.

3. This position requires lifting regularly up to 25 pounds, pulling or pushing persons in wheelchairs; transferring persons weighing more than 50 pounds to and from wheelchairs must be performed with another staff member.

4. At times, physical interventions may be required.

5. This position requires the ability to hear, see, smell and distinguish temperature, at a level which is adequate to ensure client and staff health and safety. Adaptive devices are acceptable.

6. This position will require daily driving of up to one hour per day and occasionally up to eight hours per day.

1. Exposure to typical climate controlled home and office environments.

2. Exposure to blood borne pathogens and infectious disease is possible, but limited.
