Director of Information Technology - Radiology
Description

Director of Information Technology – Radiology

Lead the Tech Engine Powering Modern Radiology.

Radiology doesn't wait — and neither does our IT department. We're looking for a visionary IT Director who thrives in a fast-moving, technology-intensive environment and knows how to turn big ideas into real results. If you're the kind of leader who gets people fired up, pushes through complex projects, and sees technology as a competitive weapon — read on.

The Role

You'll own the full technology vision for our radiology organization — from infrastructure and security to software platforms and innovation strategy. You'll work alongside executive leadership to build a unified, integrated IT platform that keeps our clinicians ahead of the curve and our operations running without a hitch.

This isn't a "keep the lights on" role. It's a "redesign the building while the lights are on" role.

What You'll Do

· Set the vision. Partner with executive leadership to define and execute a forward-thinking IT roadmap aligned with business growth, profitability, and patient care goals.

· Drive modernization. Lead enterprise-wide technology upgrades — hardware, software, and infrastructure — and make smart build-vs-buy calls that eliminate redundancy and cut costs.

· Lead with impact. Inspire and mobilize a team of 11 IT staff to tackle ambitious projects with urgency, precision, and pride.

· Keep us secure and compliant. Own network security, HIPAA compliance, disaster recovery, and data integrity across the organization.

· Champion innovation. Evaluate and implement emerging technologies that give our radiology teams a real edge — and build a culture where the team is always learning and leveling up.

What You Bring

· 10+ years in IT leadership; 10+ years in a healthcare environment

· Deep knowledge of healthcare IT, HIPAA, and radiology workflows (PACS, RIS, and integrated worklist experience a major plus)

· A track record of delivering complex, cross-functional tech projects on time and on budget

· The ability to translate technical strategy into language executives and clinicians actually care about

· Proven leadership: you build teams that want to run through walls for you.

Why This Role?

Radiology is one of the most technology-dependent disciplines in healthcare — and our department is at a pivotal moment. You'll have the authority, the team, and the executive support to make a real mark. If you want a role where your leadership and technical vision will be felt every single day, this is it.

The Director of IT will be responsible for assisting the Executive Team (EC) in setting the company's strategic technological direction. They are responsible for ensuring the delivery of systems that will enable the company's growth while driving down costs through contemporary strategies, and maintaining a stable, high-availability environment. This role will require a candidate capable of forming a strategic vision for a unified radiology worklist and integrated IT platform.

The Director of IT is key to aligning the company's technology offerings with its business strategies. They must ensure that all technology initiatives are in sync with the overarching business planning and objectives set forth by the EC. This role requires a leader who can manage the company's technical vision and translate it into a well-defined, achievable, and growth-oriented technical plan. Additionally, the Director of IT is responsible for developing plans, policies, and standards for IT systems and other technology assets.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide focused, business-minded IT leadership, emphasizing IT's measurable contribution to business success and business metrics (revenue growth, profitability, market share, customer service, expense, etc.) Direct experience wth IT planning nand budget management is required.

• Operationalize IT processes across the company. Assist the EC in determining where new development is required versus implementing packaged solutions. Rationalize the enterprise application suite to improve functionality, eliminate redundancies, and reduce cost.

• Oversee the deployment of company-wide technology standards spanning applications and infrastructure. Ensure compliance with policies and standards to maximize effectiveness and minimize costs related to the acquisition, implementation, and operation of IT systems.

• Oversee the company's network infrastructure and provide security, regulatory compliance, and provision for disaster recovery. Maintain security of all data proprietary to the company and provide complete backup of all computer systems in case of system failure or disaster.

• Assist in evaluating and selecting innovative technology and responsible for implementing technology (hardware, software, and services) to support the company.

• Familiarity with healthcare services, regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA), and reimbursement models.

• Experience in managing a support team that can execute quickly and effectively but with big-picture business objectives that align with the vision of senior company management.
