Position Overview
The EWP Manager is responsible for leading the engineered wood products department, including sales support, product management, design operations, and inventory strategy. This role oversees the performance and development of the EWP design and sales support team while ensuring accurate layouts, efficient workflow, and strong customer service. The position works closely with Sales, Operations, and branch leadership to support residential, multi-family, and commercial projects while driving profitable growth within the EWP category.

Essential Functions
- Lead the overall performance of the EWP department, including design operations, sales support, and product management.
- Supervise the EWP Supervisor and support the development and productivity of the EWP design and coordination team.
- Establish department goals related to sales growth, design productivity, project timelines, and customer service performance.
- Provide technical guidance and problem-solving support for complex residential, multi-family, and commercial projects.
- Partner with Sales leadership to expand EWP sales opportunities and strengthen customer relationships.
- Manage the EWP product lifecycle including purchasing coordination, pricing support, vendor relationships, and product launches.
- Monitor inventory levels, product turns, and aging to maintain efficient inventory performance and product availability.
- Coordinate with purchasing and operations teams regarding product availability, freight considerations, and material planning.
- Maintain strong vendor partnerships and support cost management through effective product and supply coordination.
- Monitor and analyze performance indicators including gross margin, category growth, and product performance.
- Communicate market trends, product updates, and competitive activity to branch leadership and sales teams.
- Support customer engagement through jobsite visits, project consultations, and relationship development as needed.
- Evaluate opportunities for new products and expansion of the EWP product offering.
- Ensure drafting standards, product specifications, and workflow procedures remain consistent across the EWP team.
- Coordinate product training and technical education for internal teams and customers.
- Collaborate with other EWP Managers across locations to maintain consistent design practices, workflow processes, and performance standards.

- Direct oversight of the EWP Supervisor and the EWP department team including technicians and support staff.

Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum Seven (7) years’ experience in engineered wood products, drafting, construction design, or related industry preferred.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex residential or commercial structural layouts.
- Strong understanding of EWP applications, structural design principles, and construction practices.
- Experience with PrebuiltML X, and/or AutoCAD required.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to analyze product performance and support strategic product decisions.

Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical coursework or experience in drafting, construction management, engineering technology, or related field preferred.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
This position operates in a professional office environment with frequent interaction with internal teams, vendors, and customers. The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, see, hear, and communicate. The role may require occasional travel to customer locations or job sites and the ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
