Now, we are hiring a full-time Senior CNC machinist to work in our new state-of-the-art Oakville facility.  The successful candidate will work as part of a highly motivated team in an exciting environment using the latest machining technologies that truly change the future of manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities: 

Machining and Technical Leadership

  • Coordinate      and carry out complex setups and operation of CNC lathes with multi-tool      heads and subspindles, primarily on FANUC-controlled equipment, supporting      both repetitive production and intricate, one-off aerospace components
  • Set      up, operate, and troubleshoot 3-axis and 5-axis CNC milling machines,      ensuring stability and precision when working with complex geometries and      tight-tolerance features
  • Operate      wire EDM and sinker EDM equipment to produce high-accuracy features, fine      details, and controlled surface finishes
  • Apply      advanced probing cycles, offsets, and in-process verification to maintain      sub-thousandth accuracy throughout the machining process
  • Review      and troubleshoot G-code, refine toolpaths, and collaborate closely with      CNC programmers to optimize programs for FANUC machines

Maintenance and Equipment Upkeep

  • Perform      intermediate and advanced maintenance on CNC mills, lathes, and EDM      systems, including alignment checks, lubrication, coolant and filtration      management, and minor repairs
  • Identify      and escalate machine performance issues early, coordinating with      maintenance or vendors to prevent unexpected downtime
  • Follow      company standards and procedures around tooling libraries, etc.
  • Support      the development of preventative maintenance routines and participate in      machine capability evaluations

Quality Assurance

  • Follow      SOP to ensure traceability for all machined parts, maintaining detailed      records such as travelers, setup sheets, inspection results, and process      documentation 
  • Adhere      to all AS9100 procedures, safety requirements, and internal work      instructions

Team Collaboration, Support, and Mentorship

  • Collaborate      with CNC programmers, Engineering, AM Applications, Planning, and Quality      teams to resolve machining issues and refine production processes
  • Mentor      machinists and apprentices, sharing expertise in 5-axis milling, turning,      EDM, FANUC controls, and advanced setup methods
  • Assist      other departments as needed, supporting shop activities such as staging      materials, preparing fixtures, organizing work areas, and maintaining      clean, safe workstations

Technical Skills & Experience

  • Minimum      7+ years of CNC machining experience, with strong capability in 5 & 3      axis milling, CNC lathes.
  • Extensive      experience on FANUC-controlled machining centers and lathes, including      complex setups, troubleshooting, and program adjustments
  • Proven      ability to work with tight tolerances and complex geometries
  • Expert-level      proficiency with blueprint reading, G-code interpretation, and GD&T
  • Skilled      in probing cycles, in-process inspection, and advanced metrology equipment
  • Demonstrated      ability to perform intermediate to advanced maintenance on CNC mills,      lathes, and EDM equipment
  • Wire      EDM and sinker EDM experience considered a strong asset
  • CNC      programming experience (especially FANUC) is a strong asset
  • Experience      with advanced inspection tools (e.g., CMM, optical comparators) is a      strong asset

Industry & Material Knowledge

  • Experience      in aerospace machining or other high-precision industries (e.g., medical,      defense)
  • Familiarity      with AS9100 or NADCAP standards and aerospace documentation practices
  • Experience      with high-performance materials such as titanium, Inconel, or      aerospace-grade aluminum alloys

Education and Professional Attributes

  • College      diploma in Machining or Mechanical Engineering Technology is considered an      asset; equivalent hands-on experience will also be highly valued,      particularly where it demonstrates strong ownership, accountability, and      attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates      strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose      and resolve complex machining challenges across multiple machines and      platforms.
  • Communicates      clearly, manages time and priorities effectively, and works well in a      fast-paced, collaborative manufacturing environment.

The expected compensation range for this position is $33 – $40.5 hourly. Actual compensation will depend on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and experience. We also consider internal equity to ensure fair and consistent pay practices. This range reflects the expected full compensation range for this role; most offers will fall within the range and not at the maximum in order to allow for future growth.
