Job Summary
As a Junior Linux Application Engineer, you will contribute to the development of Linux-based modem solutions using Qualcomm chipsets. Reporting to the SW3 Team Leader, you will support application development, board bring-up activities, and modem functionality verification while growing your technical depth in cellular modem technologies.
Objectives & Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain software for cellular modem solutions based on Qualcomm chipsets.
- Implement Linux-based applications/services for modem control and data communication.
- Support board bring-up, hardware interface validation, and initial system debugging.
- Assist with firmware download processes, flashing automation, and tool usage.
- Participate in issue analysis for modem connectivity, protocol stack behavior, and data throughput.
- Support security-related tasks for cellular modem development, including vulnerability analysis and mitigation.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to manage deliverables and execute project plans.
- Conduct debugging, code review, and performance optimization under guidance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Linux development.
- Experience in programming within Linux environments, particularly with C/C++.
- Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
- A team player who values collaboration.
- Ability to travel internationally without restrictions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in cellular modem development.
- Understanding of embedded systems and communication protocols.
- Knowledge or experience with modem technologies.
- Interest in modem security or secure boot technologies.
- Experience with Qualcomm tools (QXDM, QPST) or modem log interpretation.
- Knowledge of LTE/NR/RedCap or communication protocols.
- Experience with Yocto, Embedded Linux, or OpenWRT.
- Experience with Git, automation tools, or scripting (Python/Shell).
- Contributions to open-source projects.
