Position/Title: Upper School Science Teacher

We are seeking a dynamic and talented teacher who can teach Biology and Chemistry. Ability to teach other Upper School science courses (Electives, Computer Science and/or Physics) is desirable. The ideal teacher will create a rich, inquiry-based, learning environment and offer a variety of instruction including lab work, discussions and research projects. They will have the ability to work collaboratively with other STEAM teachers and develop and deliver effective lessons that differentiate instruction to a diverse group of learners.
Duties and responsibilities include:
The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor of Science or graduate degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry or related field. Prior experience teaching in a high school setting is an asset and demonstrated experience with curriculum design and development is preferred. Candidates for Laurel teaching positions should be enthusiastic about pedagogy, particularly inquiry-based approaches and differentiated implementation that is best suited to a variety of learners. Successful candidates will possess a positive attitude, excellent written and verbal skills, strong organizational skills, and proven success within a work setting that requires collaboration, cooperation, and collegiality. The candidate must possess or acquire and maintain a State of Ohio issued teaching certificate. The school welcomes the opportunity to continue to find ways to diversify our faculty.
