Description

 

Job Summary

The Drafter is responsible for converting engineering concepts into precise technical drawings, blueprints, and 3D models using CAD software, while preparing accurate documentation to support manufacturing operations.


Principal Responsibilities

Design & Drafting

  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and requirements for machines and components
  • Develop engineering drawings, plans, diagrams, and layouts from sketches and design concepts
  • Operate CAD and drafting workstations using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar software
  • Produce complete drawing sets and documentation packages

Quality & Inspection

  • Perform dimensional and visual inspections on machined components
  • Conduct in-process inspections on parts while still on the machine
  • Detect, document, and control nonconforming products
  • Organize and maintain accurate quality records

Additional Duties

  • Support team motivation and foster a collaborative work environment
  • Follow all workplace policies and instructions, whether written or verbal
  • Perform other duties as required


Requirements

 Education

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Drafting, CAD Technology, or a related field

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD (or equivalent CAD software)
  • Competency in MS Office
  • Ability to use measuring equipment including OD ring gauges, thread lead and profile gauges, calipers, micrometers, and height gauges

Soft Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Self-motivated with a positive contribution to team morale 


Salary Description
$60,000 - $80,000
