Position Overview
We’re looking for a hands-on Store Manager to lead our Charlotte retail location while also managing local swim events. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment, enjoys building relationships, and can balance store operations with event-based sales.
You’ll be responsible for driving store performance, leading a team, managing inventory, and supporting swim teams through fittings, meets, and custom orders.
Key Responsibilities
Retail Store Management
- Oversee daily store operations, sales performance, and customer experience
- Hire, train, and lead retail staff to meet sales and service goals
- Create and manage employee schedules
- Maintain merchandising standards and store organization
- Manage inventory, stock levels, and product flow
- Build relationships with local swim teams (club, high school, summer league)
- Coordinate and execute team fittings, meets, and events
- Provide on-site sales support at swim meets
- Manage custom orders (team suits, caps, apparel, and webstores)
- Partner with internal teams and vendors to ensure timely and accurate delivery
Operations
- Utilize retail and communication systems (Salespad, Lightspeed, MS Teams)
- Resolve customer issues and order discrepancies
- Stay current on product knowledge and industry trends
Qualifications
- 2+ years of retail management or store leadership experience
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Experience with inventory management and sales tracking
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Customer-focused mindset with a strong attention to detail
- Experience in aquatics, swimming, or team sports sales
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Familiarity with event-based or seasonal sales environments
Schedule & Work Environment
- Full-time role based on retail store hours
- Evening and weekend availability required (especially during peak swim seasons)
- Active role requiring standing, lifting (30+ lbs), and event setup
