Buyer
Description


The Buyer supports the Purchasing Department in the procurement of materials and services required for production and operations. This role works cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure timely and cost-effective sourcing, contributing to the successful development and delivery of power conversion systems from concept through production.

Requirements


Key Responsibilities

  • Support supplier management activities, including performance related to quality, delivery, scheduling, and inventory
  • Create, process, and maintain accurate purchase orders (POs) within the ERP system
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate material requirements to support production schedules
  • Track and evaluate supplier performance, escalating issues related to quality or delivery as needed
  • Assist in maintaining supplier compliance with contractual agreements and company standards
  • Support cost analysis and cost-saving initiatives while maintaining quality and delivery expectations
  • Monitor inventory positions against forecasts and customer demand to maintain optimal stock levels
  • Track Purchasing KPIs and assist in preparing reports and performance metrics
  • Resolve billing, shipping, and logistics issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Participate in supplier communications, meetings, and follow-ups
  • Maintain reporting for open POs, past-due orders, delivery schedules, and supplier performance
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the purchasing and supply chain function
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2–5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain operations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Basic understanding of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical drawings
  • Familiarity with electronic components, hardware, MRO, and indirect procurement
  • Knowledge of inventory management principles and supply chain metrics
  • Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement environments
  • Experience working with ERP systems
