Stock Builder Job Summary
The Stock Builder supports the production of high-end custom firearm stocks through precision assembly, painting, and problem-solving. This hands-on role requires mechanical aptitude, aesthetic attention to detail, and a team-first attitude.
Stock Builder Responsibilities
- Complete gunsmithing projects and repairs
- Assemble and paint custom firearm stocks
- Perform scheduled machine and shop maintenance
- Assemble small components and assist with production tasks
- Participate in hands-on stock building processes
- Travel up to 10% may be required
- All other duties as assigned by management
Stock Builder Skills and Competencies
- Strong willingness to learn under mentorship
- Highly detailed and organized approach to tasks
- Team-oriented with a positive, solution-driven attitude
- Skill in building and painting stocks
- Effective time management and problem-solving skills
Stock Builder Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Familiarity with the firearms industry and firearm safety
- Mechanically inclined with manual dexterity and common sense
- Appreciation for the artistic and aesthetic aspects of stock design
- Background or interest in firearms, the outdoors, and custom craftsmanship
- Ability to lift 40 lbs.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clear record for the past three years
- Must agree to sign non-compete and non-disclosure agreements
Work Environment
Combination of indoor and outdoor conditions including exposure to loud environments, heat/cold, humidity, and airborne particles.
Physical Requirements
- Standing, walking, or sitting up to 10 hours per day
- Frequent use of hands and feet for equipment and manual tasks
- Occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, and twisting
- Lifting and moving objects up to 50+ pounds
