Overview:

The Vice President Human Resources is responsible for establishing and implementing Human Resource policies for the entire company, creating and developing HR objectives, recruiting new employees and maintaining good relations within the organization. The VP of Human Resources monitors compliance with legal issues pertaining to the workforce and ensure that labor laws are being interpreted and implemented correctly. The VP of Human Resources will develop and drive organizational effectiveness and support the president/CEO on all major initiatives.

Location(s): Our corporate office is located in Milford, Iowa. We work and live where others vacation! We offer the option to work full-time onsite, hybrid, or full-time remote based on your location. Onsite: Team members can choose to work full-time onsite at our corporate office. Hybrid: Our hybrid option allows team members to work 3 days at home and 2 days in the office each week. Thursdays are considered to be a universal onsite day for all employees within a 40-mile radius of headquarters. Remote: Based on a candidate’s location, this position can also be offered as a full-time work from home opportunity.

Schedule: For this position, you can expect to work Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.

Salary: This is a salaried position that pays at $60,000/annually + uncapped commission. Salary is based on expereince and wages are received weekly, with the option to earn it sooner with Instant Pay!

A day in the life of a VP of Human Resources:

  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct and evaluate the organization’s human resource function and performance.
  • Translate the strategic and tactical business plans into HR strategic and operational plans.
  • Evaluate and advise on the impact of long range planning of new programs/strategies and regulatory action as those items impact the attraction, motivation, development and retention of the people resources of the corporation.
  • Develop staffing strategies and implementation plans and programs to identify talent within and outside the corporation for positions of responsibility. Identify appropriate and effective external sources for candidates for all levels within the company. 
  • Develop progressive and proactive compensation and benefits programs to provide motivation, incentives and rewards for effective performance and to provide programs which utilize an employee and company partnership for the short and long-range health and welfare protection of the employees. 
  • Develop programs to allow the corporation to embrace applicants and employees of all backgrounds and to permit the full development and performance of all employees. 
  • Develop human resource planning models to identify competency, knowledge and talent gaps and develop specific programs for the filling of the gaps. Areas of activity will include talent management through proper succession planning programs for key contributor and management positions, training and development programs for preparing employees for more significant responsibilities and general business development programs to enhance employee knowledge and understanding of the business of the company and the software industry. 
  • Develop appropriate policies and programs for effective management of the people resources of the corporation. Included in this area but not limited only to the following would be programs for employee relations, work comp, affirmative action, sexual harassment, employee complaints, external education and career development. 
  • Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce human resources policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation. In particular, manage the human resource information systems database and necessary reports for critical analyses of the HR function and the people resources of the corporation. 
  • Provide technical advice and knowledge to others within the human resources discipline. 
  • Manage other areas such as relocation, employee communication, employee safety and health and community relations. 
  • Continue improving the programs, policies, practices and processes associated with meeting the strategic and operational people issues of the organization. 
  • Evaluation of the human resource division structure and team plan for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group as well as providing individuals with professional and personal growth with emphasis on opportunities (where possible) for individuals. 
  • Manage organizational change to increase employee satisfaction and productivity.
  • Coordinate company equal opportunity programs to achieve diversity goals.
  • Direct the administration of benefit programs to include: health, retirement, death, disability and unemployment.
  • Develop and coordinate grievances and mediate workplace disputes.
  • Evaluate procedures and technology solutions to improve human resources data management.
  • Evaluate company culture and provide recommendations on changes to accomplish company goals and objectives.
  • Establish and implement short and long term departmental goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures.
  • Oversee customer service training and execution across the organization.
  • Maintain Joint Commission certification, federal contracting eligibility and out seek and maintain additional certificate and business recognition opportunities.

Requirements

Here’s what you’ll need to be successful in this role:

Experience in business development or implementation for healthcare staffing and workforce management organizations

Knowledge of software frequently used, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office, Adobe, Windows, and CRM

Ability to understand and evaluate clinical setting, staffing industry standards and client needs

Work independently but also have a commitment to be a team player

Results orientated

Ability to negotiate

High School Diploma or equivalent
