The Therapy Technician assists in the delivery of therapist services under the supervision of Physical and Occupational Therapists
Essential Functions:
- Greets and checks in patients, collects co-pays and escorts them from reception room to the treatment rooms/gym; prepares patients for treatment as directed by therapist.
- Prepares patient in treatment room and notifies therapist when ready
- Prepares treatments with necessary equipment
- Assists therapist in preparing for treatment rooms
- Assist therapist in preparing for treatment programs
- Triages incoming telephone calls as needed; instructs patient and family regarding treatment instruction, then documents action taken in patient chart
- Schedules patient appointments as necessary
- Assist in preparing and maintaining supplies and equipment in therapy department
- Replenishes supplies-stocks and cleans therapy area and manages supply of therapy supplies, including the laundering and stocking of towels and linens
- Recommends equipment and inventory purchases to Manager
Additional duties as assigned.
Education & Training Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Experience working in a Physical or Occupational therapy setting preferred
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Background in some sort of fitness, sports, health, or wellness related activity or work preferred not required
- Experience working with the public.
- Experience with computers and office equipment.
Experience with standard gym equipment including cable machines, treadmills, bikes, free weights, etc.
