Description
POSITION SUMMARY
Utilizing hands-on experience and understanding of accounting principles, the Staff Accountant role is responsible for supporting key aspects of fiscal management and financial reporting.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform daily reconciliation of cash to ensure financial accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare daily and weekly cash reporting.
- File unclaimed funds and maintain compliance with escheatment laws.
- Support the monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Maintain accounting systems, records, and documentation.
- Prepare and review journal entries, including revenue and expense accruals.
- Analyze complex financial reports and underlying accounting data.
- Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Prepare income statement fluctuation analyses.
- Assist in developing, enhancing, and implementing accounting processes and procedures.
- Conduct research and interpret financial data to support decision-making.
- Collaborate on complex accounting projects and initiatives with cross-functional teams.
- Assist with financial statement audits and compile information required for annual tax filings.
- Continuously identify opportunities to enhance the delivery and support of financial activities and programs.
- Maintain ongoing professional development through relevant affiliations, seminars, and workshops to stay current on healthcare industry trends.
- Perform additional responsibilities and tasks as assigned.
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Solid technical knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
- Strong analytical skills with intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with NetSuite or other advanced ERP systems.
- Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, presentation, and active listening abilities.
- Highly organized, able to manage multiple projects and deadlines with a proactive approach.
- Strong focus on process improvement and operational efficiency.
- Energetic and personable, with the ability to quickly build positive working relationships.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required. Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant accounting or finance experience required. Public accounting experience preferred. Healthcare knowledge a plus.
- WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This position is fully remote. Reliable internet access and the ability to collaborate virtually during core business hours are required.
