Overview: We are seeking an experienced and proactive Supply Chain & Purchasing Manager to lead sourcing, supplier management, purchasing strategy, and supply chain risk mitigation activities. This role is responsible for negotiating competitive pricing and favorable commercial terms with both existing and new suppliers, managing long-lead-time components, and ensuring continuity of supply for critical materials. 


The ideal candidate will work cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, and Finance to improve cost, availability, and supplier performance while supporting company growth objectives.


Key Responsibilities: 

Supplier Management & Negotiation

• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, minimum order quantities (MOQ), lead times, supply agreements with current & prospective suppliers.

· Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure reliable delivery, quality, and cost competitiveness. 

•  Continuously evaluate supplier performance including cost, quality, delivery, and responsiveness. 

•   Identify cost reduction opportunities and implement sourcing strategies that improve overall material cost structure. 


Supply Chain Risk Management

• Conduct monthly reviews of long-lead-time and critical components to identify supply chain risks, shortages, or growing lead times. 

• Develop mitigation strategies for at-risk components including safety stock recommendations, alternate sourcing, and supplier escalation. 

• Monitor market conditions, component availability, and industry trends that may impact supply continuity or pricing. 

• Collaborate with planning and operations teams to support production continuity and inventory optimization. 


Strategic Sourcing & Alternate Suppliers

• Research and recommend alternate suppliers and component options to improve pricing, availability, and supply chain resilience. 

• Partner with Engineering and Quality teams to support qualification and approval of alternate components and suppliers. 

• Lead RFQ/RFP processes and comparative supplier evaluations. 

• Maintain sourcing documentation, supplier records, and purchasing data accuracy. 


Purchasing & Operational Support

• Manage procurement activities to ensure timely purchase order placement and delivery tracking. 

• Work closely with Manufacturing, Planning, and Finance to align purchasing strategies with business forecasts and production schedules. 

• Support inventory management initiatives to balance material availability with inventory carrying costs. 

• Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and quality standards.


Required Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Engineering, or related field preferred. 

· 5+ years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, sourcing, or procurement management. 

· Experience negotiating supplier contracts, pricing, and commercial terms. 

· Strong understanding of electronic components, manufacturing supply chains, and long-lead material management preferred. 

· Experience working with ERP/MRP systems and supply chain analytics tools. 

· Proven ability to identify supply risks and implement mitigation strategies. 

· Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills. 

· Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Preferred:

· Experience sourcing electronic or technical components. 

· Knowledge of global supply chain management and supplier development. 

· APICS, CPSM, or related supply chain certification is a plus. 

· Strong Excel and data analysis capabilities.
