The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will have primary responsibilities and secondary responsibilities. The focus of this position is to provide support to individuals and their families by coordinating and providing services in Applied Behavior Analysis, functional analyses and assessment, behavior acquisition and reduction procedures, and adaptive life skills. The BCBA manages all aspects of ABA therapy, including: conducting assessments, developing ABA programs, and providing supervision and training to RBTs. The BCBA uses evidence-based practices and interventions to modify behaviors and increase language, communication, social, independent play, and self-help skills. The BCBA is an employee of Radiant Autism Center.

Daily personal and close contact with clients to provide behavior management and learning environment support is required. Regular contact with other staff members and parents is required. 


Physical Requirements

Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

Standing: Remaining upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time. 

Use of Fingers: Picking, pinching typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand or arms as in handling.

Grasping: Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm. 

Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; those activities where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. 

Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound. 

Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. 


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Full-time, Exempt: 40+ hours per week

Requirements

Primary Job Responsibilities  

Assess children using a variety of different assessment tools as needed, including but not limited to: FBA, VB-MAPP, ADOS-2, ABBLS, etc

Write a comprehensive Individual Behavior Plan for each child assessed

Function in a supervisory capacity and provide oversight to all areas of programming, including the training of RBTs

Work with varying professionals including doctors, psychiatrists, speech therapists, and occupational therapists to develop and implement individualized goals and checklists 

Provide parent/caregiver training 

Ongoing graphing and data analysis

Complete various forms for reporting and documentation to include treatment plan goal reporting with tracking and trending


Secondary Job Responsibilities

Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending conferences, reviewing professional publications, and attending CEUs to maintain BCBA certification

Conduct in-service training where necessary

Demonstrate the leadership qualities and personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with clients, team members, administrators, and families


Basic Competencies and Requirements 

Basic understanding of data collection procedures

Effective time management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at one time

Must possess ability to establish rapport and work constructively with staff, clients, parents, and administration

Demonstrate the ability to present analytical data in an articulate manner to a variety of audiences including oral presentation and written reports

Possess leadership qualities and effective organization skills

Must possess an understanding of various disabilities and best practices for working with such clients

License required: Texas BCBA licensure
