Columbia Child Development Program is currently hiring multiple temporary Summer Assistant Educators to support our early childhood classrooms and school-age programs beginning June 8. We are seeking caring, energetic, and dependable individuals who enjoy creating positive experiences for children in a fun, supportive environment.


Position Details

  • Temporary Summer Employment
  • Full-Time and Part-Time Hours Available between 7:00am-5:30pm
  • Start Date: June 8
  • Opportunities available in infant, toddler, preschool, and school-age classrooms

What You’ll Do

Assistant Educators work alongside lead teachers to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children. Responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with classroom activities, play, and learning experiences
  • Supporting children’s social, emotional, and developmental growth
  • Helping maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom
  • Supervising children during indoor and outdoor activities
  • Encouraging positive behavior and teamwork
  • Building positive relationships with children, families, and staff

  • Experience with children preferred, but not required
  • Must meet all required background clearances and employment requirements

Requirements

For an assistant position-

A high school diploma or a GED certificate and an associate's degree in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field- Starting rate $14.73/hour 

OR a high school diploma or a GED certificate, and 15 credits in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and one year of documented experience with children- Starting rate $13.49/hour 

OR a high school diploma or GED certificate and two years of documented experience working with children- Starting rate $12.79/hour 


For an aide position-

A high school diploma or a GED certificate, some experience working with children- Starting rate $10.57/hour  

Salary Description
$10.57-$14.73/hour
