Position: Site Supervisor

Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt

Reports to: National Director of Travel Paramedicine

Location: Remote-Travel Assignment

Compensation: Assignment Base Rate + $3 per hour differential

What you will do.

  • Leadership and team management.
    • Provide direct oversight and support to assigned staff.
    • Serve as a role model for professionalism, accountability, and customer service.
    • Foster a positive team culture focused on collaboration, respect, and performance, emphasizing our core values.
    • Assist in onboarding, training, and mentorship of new or transitioning employees.
    • Address performance concerns promptly through coaching, feedback, or corrective action.
    • Assist in payroll reconciliation and approval as needed.
  • Operational Oversight
    • Ensure adequate crew coverage and resource readiness for daily operations, in collaboration with client staffing coordinator in maintaining coverage.
    • Monitor and support timely crew deployment, shift transitions, and response time compliance.
    • Coordinate with dispatch, field crews, client supervisors, and BPM leadership to resolve logistical challenges in real time.
    • Work assigned shifts as a clinician in addition to supervisory duties.
  • Schedule Administration
    • Ensure BPM scheduling systems are updated daily.
    • Communicate staffing updates to Operations Managers.
    • Verify that Travel Paramedics/EMTs are meeting weekly staffing requirements and contractual restrictions.
  • Compliance & Documentation
    • Verify accurate and timely completion of patient care reports (PCRs), timesheets, and incident reports.
    • Ensure adherence to all BPM, state, and client protocols, including documentation and scope-of-practice standards.
    • Monitor for and report safety concerns, compliance violations, or incidents following policy.
  • Communication & Liaison Responsibilities
    • Act as the first point of contact for assigned personnel during shifts or incidents.
    • Maintain open, respectful, and professional communication with field staff, BPM leadership, and client agencies.
    • Facilitate shift briefings, debriefings, and interdepartmental updates.
    • Represent BPM professionally and collaboratively with clients and community partners.
  • Incident & Conflict Management
    • Respond to and investigate on-shift incidents, including clinical events, crew disputes, or complaints.
    • Document findings and escalate to BPM leadership or HR as appropriate.
    • Maintain confidentiality and objectivity in personnel or incident management.
  • Quality & Training Support
    • Support QA/QI initiatives by reviewing reports and coaching team members on clinical/documentation best practices.
    • Identify staff training needs or performance trends and escalate to operations leadership.
    • Reinforce company policies, guidelines, and expectations through daily interactions.
  • Safety & Risk Management
    • Promote a “safety-first” culture in vehicle operation, patient handling, and on-scene conduct.
    • Ensure compliance with EVOC and PPE requirements at all times.
      Promptly report and address workplace hazards, near misses, and injuries.
  • Resource & Property Management
    • Ensure BPM property, equipment, and uniforms are accounted for.
    • Track, distribute, and document uniform supply.
    • Maintain functionality of timekeeping kiosks and report issues promptly.
  • Other duties as assigned, directed, or instructed.
Requirements

Required Experience and Education:

  • Minimal 3 years in certification scope as EMT
  • Preferred 5 years in scope
  • National Registry Certification
  • AHA BLS
  • AHA ACLS (ALS)
  • AHA PALS (ALS)
  • PHTLS (ALS)

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear. The employee occasionally is required to use a sense of smell.
  • The employee must frequently lift transfer, maneuver, load, and otherwise move clients and/or equipment weighing up to 250 pounds with a partner.
    • Such maneuvers are often performed in surroundings that involve numerous steps, narrow pathways, and around obstacles, and often must be performed in a time-efficient manner while still ensuring their own safety as well as the safety of the client, their partner, and any other individuals or objects in the area.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

  • Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor conditions in a non-smoking environment.

Probationary Period and Ongoing Evaluation:

  • All newly appointed supervisors will be subject to a 90-day probationary period. During this time, assignment performance will be evaluated to assess leadership effectiveness, decision-making, adherence to company standards, and overall suitability for continued service in a supervisory capacity with Best Practice Medicine. In addition to the probationary review, supervisors will be subject to continued performance evaluations after each assignment term to ensure consistent alignment with organizational standards and expectations. Each new assignment will be subject to a supervisor selection process, and appointment to a supervisory role is not automatically guaranteed from one assignment to the next.
