Description

Demonstrates Competency in the Following Areas:

  • Obtains initial database and provides for further data collection including biopsychosocial assessment and history and physical exam as directed by the physician. 
  • Consults with the physician and/or Director regarding treatment decisions, release of information and subpoenas.
  • Completes client notes (including the CPT codes and charge codes) in the EHR at the end of each day.
  • Makes referrals to community agencies to ensure continuity of care, while at all times maintaining confidentiality of the client.
  • Obtains signatures and releases of information as needed from each client.
  • Participates in a variety of educational activities in order to maintain and increase competence.
  • Keeps all licenses and certifications current. Completes all annual employee requirements prior to evaluation date.
  • Maintains privacy of all client information by securely storing any paper documents at the end of each day.
  • Strives to maintain a good rapport with fellow workers and is active in promoting a positive, cooperative working environment. Maintains good interdepartmental relationships.
  • Maintains a good work record. Reports to work on time and has limited absences and timely notification of any illness or absence.
  • Shows flexibility in work hours and duties as needed.
  • Effectively promotes Clinical Psychiatry and Clinical Counseling Department in a positive manner. Supports the goals and mission of JCMH and displays a positive attitude toward the hospital to the public.
  • Interacts with physicians, other staff members, clients and their families in a professional, cooperative and courteous manner.
  • Develops and maintains a positive, professional working relationship with other community agencies.
  • Wears hospital identification while on duty.
  • Ensures promptness in seeing clients and limits sessions to appropriate timeframe.

Demonstrates Competency in the Following Areas:

  • Performs other duties as assigned by the physician and supports his/her directives.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide quality treatment in a cost effective manner.
  • Maintains the highest standards of ethics and professionalism.
  • Maintains knowledge of treatment approaches that are effective with particular populations.
  • Charts progress notes within 2 working days of client’s appointment.
  • Understands the importance of communication and the consistency of messages conveyed to the clients, employees and other members of the treatment team.
  • Identifies knowledge and skill needs through self-assessment, peer review and supervisor review.
Requirements

Education/Regulatory Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree
  • Current Oklahoma licensure as a nurse practitioner with certification in the area of mental health. 
  • Previous work history that demonstrates steady attendance and punctuality is required.

Experience:

  • Applicable and recent documented experience (may be a part of Nurse Practitioner education).
  • Two years experience in a mental health setting preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to provide quality treatment in a cost effective manner.
  • Maintains the highest standards of ethics and professionalism.
  • Ability to work as an effective member of the treatment team.
  • Maintains knowledge of treatment approaches that are effective with particular populations.
