Purpose: The Cage Cashier is   responsible for performing a variety of cash handling transactions in a   secure and accurate manner within the casino cage. This position provides   exceptional guest service while processing transactions such as chip   redemption, ticket redemption, cash advances (if applicable), and jackpot   payouts in compliance with Tribal Gaming Regulations and National Indian   Gaming Commission (NIGC) standards.

This role is   essential to maintaining financial integrity, safeguarding assets, and   ensuring adherence to all internal controls.

 

Essential Functions. An   individual in this role must be able to perform the following functions with   or without reasonable accommodation:


· Cash Handling &   Transactions

· Process customer   transactions including ticket redemption, check cashing (if applicable), and   chip/token exchanges.

· Accurately count,   verify, and balance cash drawers at the beginning and end of each shift.

· Issue and verify   jackpot payouts and hand pays in accordance with procedures.

· Maintain proper   documentation for all transactions.

· Compliance &   Internal Controls

· Adhere strictly to all   internal controls, policies, and procedures.

· Verify identification   for transactions as required (e.g., jackpots, large transactions).

· Maintain compliance   with anti-money laundering (AML) requirements and reporting thresholds.

· Ensure accuracy and   accountability in all financial transactions.

· Security & Risk   Awareness

· Safeguard cash, chips,   and other financial instruments at all times.

· Remain alert to   suspicious activity and report concerns immediately.

· Follow dual-control   procedures and segregation of duties requirements.

· Guest Service

· Provide courteous,   efficient, and professional service to all guests.

· Answer guest questions   regarding transactions and casino services.

· Resolve minor issues   and escalate concerns appropriately.

 


Requirements

Minimum   Qualifications (education, experience, skills):

· High School Diploma or   GED required.

· One (1) year of cash   handling or customer service experience.

· Ability to obtain and   maintain required Tribal gaming licenses and clearances


Preferred   Qualifications (education, experience, skills):

· Experience in a casino   cage, bank teller role, or high-volume cash environment.

· Familiarity with AML   compliance or financial reporting requirements.
