We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Assistant Maintenance Manager to support our maintenance operations within a growing manufacturing environment. This opportunity is with a 49-year-old privately held company that continues to invest heavily in equipment, technology, and talent to strengthen an already successful operation. Over the past six years, much of the facility’s equipment has been rebuilt and expanded, creating an exciting environment for maintenance professionals looking to grow their leadership experience.
The Assistant Maintenance Manager will work closely with the Maintenance Manager to support daily maintenance activities, improve equipment reliability, and help lead a skilled team of maintenance personnel. Aluminum extrusion maintenance experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assist in supervising a team of maintenance technicians, maintenance planner, and parts purchaser.
- Support planning and execution of scheduled maintenance shutdowns.
- Coordinate with production teams to improve equipment performance and manufacturing processes.
- Help ensure preventative maintenance (PM) tasks are completed properly and on schedule.
- Assist in maintaining and improving the CMMS system, including development of PM procedures and tracking mean time between failures.
- Support spare parts inventory organization and management efforts.
- Coordinate contractors and vendors for maintenance projects and facility improvements.
- Assist in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and automation-related equipment issues.
- Promote and enforce safe work practices and compliance with company safety policies.
- Help develop maintenance team skills through training and daily leadership support.
Education
- Preferred degree or technical training in engineering, industrial maintenance, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum 7 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience.
Technical Skills
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience with drives, PLCs, and HMIs preferred.
- Familiarity with preventative maintenance systems and CMMS software.
