Description
POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD
- Operates a straight truck with a gross vehicle weight between 1.5 to 4 tons (typically 6 wheels) to transport materials, merchandise, or equipment between locations.
- Ensures safe, timely, and efficient delivery while complying with all traffic laws, safety regulations, and procedures.
- Loads / unloads truck securing cargo properly.
- Performs vehicle inspections as necessary.
- Completes required paperwork, including delivery receipts, logs, maintenance reports.
- Performs basic vehicle maintenance and reports mechanical issues promplty.
- Follow all Department of Transportation regulations, safety protocols, and site-specific rules.
- May need to operate material handling equipment.
- Maintain a clean vehicle and safe driving record.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and supervisors via radio or phone.
- Need to lift up to 50 lbs.
Requirements
- Minimum education: High school diploma or GED.
- Preferred education: Some vocational or commercial driving training.
- Experience: 1-2 years of commercial or truck driving experience.
- Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Valid state Commercial Driver's License is preferred.
- Ability to read maps, follow directions, and use basic navigation tools.
- Good communication and record-keeping skills.
- Must have a successful background check and drug screening.
- Ability to obtain a Security Clearance.
