900 - Purchasing Agent Part-Time
Description


The Purchasing Agent is responsible for supporting procurement and supply chain operations by sourcing materials, managing supplier relationships, processing purchase orders, and ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services. This role helps maintain inventory availability, control costs, and support operational efficiency across the organization.


Responsibilities

  • Process and track approved  purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and accurate order status      updates.
  • Identify, evaluate, and maintain  relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate purchases to support operational needs.
  • Manage and track pallet  purchases, returns, receipts, and usage throughout the company.
  • Track non-inventoried items and  maintain accurate consumption records.
  • Manage purchase orders related to  forklift maintenance and service requirements.
  • Follow up on open purchase orders  and communicate updates to receiving departments.
  • Respond to department email  requests within 24 hours.
  • Analyze purchasing trends and  identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing  records and ensure compliance with company procedures.
  • Collaborate with operations,  inventory, warehouse, manufacturing, and finance teams.
  • Cross-train on MRP processes to  provide departmental support as needed.


Requirements


  • High school diploma or equivalent  required; additional education in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field is a plus.
  • Experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory control, warehouse operations, or supply chain      functions preferred.
  • Strong organizational,  communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office,  particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience with ERP, purchasing, inventory, or MRP systems preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and  manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and  accuracy.
