Description
The Residential New Construction HVAC Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all HVAC installation activities for custom home construction projects. This position ensures projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to company quality standards, customer expectations, and applicable building codes. The Superintendent serves as the primary field representative for HVAC operations and coordinates with builders, homeowners, subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and internal teams.
Requirements
Project Management
- Oversee HVAC installation activities for custom residential new construction projects from rough-in through final completion.
- Manage multiple job sites simultaneously while maintaining project schedules and quality standards.
- Coordinate project timelines with builders, construction managers, and other trades.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and identify potential issues before they impact schedules.
- Ensure all work is completed according to plans, specifications, manufacturer requirements, and company standards.
- Review blueprints, mechanical drawings, and specifications to verify installation requirements.
Field Supervision
- Supervise HVAC installers, subcontractors, and field personnel.
- Schedule labor and equipment resources to meet production goals.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and technical support to field employees.
- Conduct job site meetings and communicate project expectations.
- Monitor employee performance and provide feedback to management.
Quality Control
- Perform quality assurance inspections throughout all phases of installation.
- Verify proper equipment placement, duct design, airflow, and system performance.
- Ensure projects meet company workmanship standards and customer expectations.
- Coordinate punch-list completion and project closeout activities.
- Address installation deficiencies promptly and effectively.
Customer and Builder Relations
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with builders, homeowners, project managers, and trade partners.
- Attend builder meetings and job site coordination meetings as required.
- Communicate project updates, schedule changes, and potential concerns to stakeholders.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly.
Safety and Compliance
- Enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Conduct regular job site safety inspections.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal building codes and regulations.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to inspections, permits, and safety requirements.
- Report accidents, incidents, and safety concerns immediately.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain project documentation, job progress reports, and schedules.
- Review material requirements and coordinate deliveries.
- Track project costs and assist with budget management.
- Submit required reports in a timely manner.
- Coordinate inspections and ensure project readiness for approval.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 5 years of residential HVAC installation experience.
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience in residential construction.
- Strong knowledge of residential HVAC systems, duct design, ventilation requirements, and installation practices.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
- Knowledge of local building codes and HVAC regulations.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to pass pre-employment screenings as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with custom home builders and luxury residential projects.
- HVAC certification, trade school training, or equivalent industry experience.
- EPA Certification.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat and humidity.
- Ability to drive between multiple job sites daily.
Work Environment
- Primarily works in residential construction environments.
- Frequent travel between job sites within the assigned territory.
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to meet project deadlines.
