Description

Job   Summary: Responsible   for delivery, installation, return, and service of rental and sale items   provided by Home Health Products. Responsible for cleaning, testing, and   regular maintenance of medical equipment. Will maintain the cleanliness and   proper maintenance of Home Health Products vehicles. 

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Demonstrates Competency in the Following Areas:

 

  • Delivers, installs, and services   equipment in a timely, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Inspects, cleans, services and   maintains rental equipment following return to company. Must be accomplished   in a thorough and timely manner.
  • Maintains mechanical condition and   physical appearance of Home Health Products vehicles.
  • Aids patients in obtaining   additional home medical equipment or supplies as needed.
  • Completes necessary paperwork such   as billing, equipment tracking, oxygen logs, and other documentation required   by company policy, state and federal law, and accreditation.
  • Conducts regular preventative   maintenance on rental equipment in use by patients.
  • Uncrates, assembles, tests, and   stocks new medical equipment.
  • Represents Home Health Products   within patients’ homes in a courteous, professional, and caring manner.
  • Maintains equipment inventory in a   state of readiness so that immediate delivery is possible.
  • Educates patients, caregivers, and   fellow employees on safe operation of equipment.
  • Serves as on-call employee on a   rotating basis, Responds quickly, courteously, and thoroughly to emergency   after-hours calls.
  • Participates in the semi-annual   physical inventory.
  • Assists with telephone and customer   sales and service in the front of the store as necessitated by customer   volume and staffing needs.
  • Performs miscellaneous duties, such as   Performance Improvement, according to staffing needs as requested by   management.
  • Maintains cleanliness of work area,   and shares responsibility for cleanliness of warehouse, equipment storage   cleaning room, repair areas, and oxygen room.
  • Professional Requirements:
  • Meets dress code standards;   appearance is neat and clean.
  • Courteous to customers, referral   sources, fellow employees, and company management.
  • Completes annual education   requirements.
  • Maintains regulatory requirements   such as state and federal regulations, company policy, and accreditation   standards.
  • Wears identification while on duty.
  • Attends annual Hospital and   Department in-service as scheduled. 
  • Professional Requirements:
  • Required to show competence: All   forms and all patient information.
  •  All   infection control and all safety 
  • Operation and management of oxygen concentrator and cylinder. 
  • Cleaning and storing equipment.
  • Telephone and computer operation.
  • Cash register and credit card operation.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in equipment delivery procedures. 
  • Competency on 21 types of equipment per competency tracking.
  • Ensures confidentiality of patient   records. 
  • Communicates the mission, ethics and   goals of Home Health Products.
  • Arrives on   duty punctually, as scheduled, ready to begin and complete assigned tasks.   Limited absences with timely notification of any illness or absence.
  • Works in a   spirit of genuine harmony with fellow workers. Works well with supervisor and supports   his/her directives. Strives to   maintain a good rapport and appropriate interdepartmental relationship with   other hospital departments.
Requirements

Education/Regulatory Requirements:

· High School graduate or equivalent preferred.

· Technical training in medical equipment delivery or repair preferred.

· Two years previous experience in commercial medical equipment business preferred.

· Must possess a valid Oklahoma driver’s license.

· Previous work history that demonstrates steady attendance and punctuality is required.

· Ability to deal with public in a courteous manner. Must meet public and work well with elderly.

· Qualified individual will be given on-the job training.


Language Skills:

· Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.

· Additional languages preferred.


Skills:

· Basic computer knowledge.

· Automotive and equipment repair skill is required.


Physical Demands:

· Near hearing and visual acuity is essential to perform the duties and functions of the position. May be required to lift up to 74 pounds alone, and up to 150 pounds with assistance.

· Some work must be performed in patient’s homes.

· Some work must be performed outdoors in all kinds of weather conditions.
