Job Title: Community Engagement Specialist

Department: Bayview Hunters Point Adult Day Health Care Center

Immediate Supervisor: Program Director or Designated Supervisor


POSITION PURPOSE

The Community Engagement Specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining meaningful relationships between the Adult Day Health Care Center and the surrounding community. This role supports outreach, program participation, and partnership development to ensure services are accessible, responsive, and aligned with community needs. The Community Engagement Specialist promotes collaboration, organizes engagement activities, and strengthens the organization’s visibility and impact within the community.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement outreach and engagement strategies to connect with community members, stakeholders,      and partner organizations
  • Plan, organize, and support community programs, workshops, consultations, and outreach events
  • Serve as a liaison between the organization and the community to ensure clear, consistent communication
  • Respond to inquiries, concerns, and feedback from participants and community members in a timely and      professional manner
  • Coordinate community events ensuring accessibility, inclusivity, and participant engagement
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to identify community needs and program opportunities
  • Track participation, collect feedback, and maintain accurate records to evaluate program effectiveness
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and communication materials related to outreach and engagement activities
  • Support data collection and reporting to inform program improvement and strategic planning
  • Utilize social media and other communication platforms to support outreach efforts when applicable
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support organizational goals
Requirements

  

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Community Development, Social Sciences, Public Health, or related field preferred
  • 1–3 years of experience in community engagement, outreach, or related roles preferred
  • Valid driver’s license required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and foster collaboration
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with social media platforms and data tracking tools
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing community needs
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Cultural sensitivity and commitment to inclusive engagement practices
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and report data accurately
