The Roll Forming Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing roll forming equipment and related production machinery to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. This role supports production by performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance while minimizing equipment downtime and maintaining compliance with all safety standards.


Responsibilities

  • Perform   preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on roll forming lines,  presses, decoilers, straighteners, cutoff systems, and material handling  equipment.
  • Troubleshoot  and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Diagnose issues  involving motors, sensors, relays, VFDs, PLC-controlled equipment, and industrial electrical systems.
  • Maintain and  repair gearboxes, bearings, shafts, chains, sprockets, drive systems,  pumps, valves, cylinders, and air systems.
  • Conduct equipment inspections, document findings, and assist with root cause  analysis for recurring issues.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
  • Maintain  maintenance records, work orders, and parts inventory documentation.
  • Support equipment setup, roll tooling alignment, and changeovers as needed.
  • Collaborate  with production teams to schedule maintenance activities with minimal  operational disruption.
  • Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)  procedures.
  • Maintain a  clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Requirements
  •  High school  diploma or GED required; technical training or certification preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years  of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in a roll forming or      metal fabrication environment.
  • Strong  mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience  working with PLCs, VFDs, motor controls, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic      systems.
  • Ability to read  electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and hydraulic diagrams.
  • Welding and  fabrication experience preferred.
  • Strong  problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work   independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to lift  up to 50 lbs. and work in a manufacturing environment.
