Chief Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Chief Engineer to lead our engineering team and ensure the smooth operation of all hotel systems.
What You’ll Do:
- Perform general maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, public areas, and hotel facilities, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting.
- Respond promptly to guest service requests and maintenance issues.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment and systems.
- Complete all work orders and tasks thoroughly, documenting work performed and ensuring issues are fully resolved.
- Maintain accurate records of parts used, time spent, and follow-up needs.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are used safely and maintained in good condition.
- Assist with seasonal projects, emergency repairs, and special assignments as needed.
- Monitor and maintain building systems, including boilers, chillers, elevators, and fire safety equipment.
- Collaborate with other departments to minimize guest disruption during maintenance work.
- Follow all safety procedures and comply with OSHA and hotel standards.
- Support energy conservation and sustainability initiatives.
- Supervise and train engineering team members, ensuring adherence to hotel and brand standards.
- Manage departmental budget and inventory of tools, parts, and supplies.
- Act as primary contact for emergency situations involving building systems.
Requirements
What We’re Looking For:
- 3–5 years of engineering or maintenance experience in hospitality or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
- Leadership experience with ability to manage a team effectively.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and safety regulations.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Certifications such as EPA, CPO, or similar preferred.
Work Environment:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, and climbing ladders.
- Comfortable working in varying temperatures and conditions.
