George School, a distinguished Quaker boarding and day college preparatory high school serving grades 9-12 in Newtown, Bucks County, PA, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Varsity Fencing Assistant Coach. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about coaching and developing young athletes in a supportive and values-driven environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the head coach in planning and conducting fencing practices, including warm-ups, drills, and conditioning exercises.
- Support athletes in improving their form, footwork, blade work, and tactical awareness across foil, épée, or sabre disciplines.
- Provide constructive feedback and critiques during practices and matches to help athletes refine their skills and strategies.
- Track individual and team progress, adjusting training plans and techniques as needed to promote continuous improvement.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful team environment aligned with the school's Quaker values.
Requirements
- Prior coaching/playing experience at the collegiate level preferred; experience at the high school level required.
- Excellent leadership and sportsmanship skills.
- Must have excellent communication skills and strong administrative skills.
