About Teknion Data Solutions

At Teknion, we believe in serving others by unlocking the hidden truths buried in their data. This has been our passion since we were founded in 1999. It is WHY we exist! Internship Overview

Each year, we are excited about the opportunity our internship program provides to invest in the lives of young men and women as we help them learn what consulting looks like in the technical world. Our internships are mutually beneficial as our interns get the opportunity to work on real projects and our clients benefit from the assistance of our interns. Each intern will be assigned to one of our practice teams where they will be exposed to various technologies in the fields of data visualization, business intelligence, data warehousing, and application development.

We offer 2 distinct internship opportunities:

• Business Intelligence Intern: work with our Tableau, Alteryx, and Wherescape consultants to assist clients in seeing and understanding their data.
• Web Application Development Intern: work alongside our programmers in developing custom web portals for clients.

Qualifications

We seek candidates that are humble, hungry, and smart. The ideal candidate has a minimum GPA of 3.2, is a quick learner, and has excellent communication skills. Ideal App Dev interns are familiar with C#, HTML, JS, CSS, and SQL.

We do not expect interns to be proficient in the world of BI prior to their internship. Our most successful interns have gained most of their technical expertise while on the job.

Duration

Internships are expected to last 10 weeks, and we are flexible on start and end dates. A typical internship runs from late May to early August.

Compensation

40 hours per week, starting at $15/hr.

Location

Teknion is located in Irving, TX. All interns are expected to be in the DFW area for the entirety of their internship. Neither relocation assistance nor housing stipends are provided.

COVID-19

COVID 19 has been both a challenge and learning process for all of us as we strive to maintain a high level of productivity while remaining flexible by balancing new health protocols and procedures. Teknion is committed to the well-being of all employees and has been very accommodating in providing remote work options for those who aren’t comfortable with working in the office during the pandemic. While we hope the coronavirus will be eradicated before this summer, we understand that it could very well still be a barrier to full onsite occupancy. As of now, the expectation for interns will be a hybrid of 3 days a week in the office (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) and 2 days a week working remotely from home (Tuesday & Thursday).
