The Medical Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients and families in our state-of-the-art Ambulatory Surgery Center. In this role, you will help create a smooth, organized, and welcoming experience from arrival through discharge by supporting patient check-in, scheduling, insurance verification, payment collection, communication, and front desk operations.

Requirements
  • Greet patients and visitors warmly; manage patient check-in, registration, and intake forms with accuracy and efficiency
  • Schedule and confirm surgical and office appointments; coordinate communication between patients, clinical staff, and physician offices
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits; collect co-pays and patient balances and process transactions accurately
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records; protect patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA requirements
  • Manage patient care flow and monitor message pools; respond to phone and electronic inquiries promptly and professionally
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure seamless coordination of patient care
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front desk and reception area at all times 

Education/Certification:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Prior experience in a medical front desk or administrative role is required
  • Orthopaedic or Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) experience is strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of insurance verification, co-pay collection, and patient scheduling systems
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; professional, patient-centered demeanor with all contacts
  • Proficiency with medical office software and standard office applications (i.e. Microsoft Office products-Word, Excel)


Benefits

OrthoNJ, LLC is required by New Jersey law to disclose the compensation range for this position. The hiring range for this role is $19-24/hour. Compensation is determined based on several factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience. Eligible full-time employees are offered a comprehensive benefits package, which may include paid time off, medical, dental, vision, and a retirement plan.

Salary Description
$19/hr-$24/hr
