Position Summary

The Foundation is hiring a Vice President of Programs & Community Impact to provide strategic leadership and day-to-day management of its programs, staff, and partnerships. Reporting to the President, this senior leadership role ensures all Foundation events and programs — scholarships, fund management, community grants, small credit union assistance, and disaster relief — are aligned with the Foundation's strategic pillars, effectively delivered, and continuously evaluated for impact.

What You'll Do

Fund Management Services

• Serve as senior relationship manager for credit unions with charitable giving and scholarship funds under Foundation management
• Support expansion of funds under management and improve the onboarding and ongoing experience for fund holders
• Partner with the Program Support & Accounts Payable Coordinator and technology partners on transparency and reporting for fund holders

Grants & Small Credit Union Support

• Manage the community grants program, financial empowerment grants, and small credit union grant cycles from solicitation through award and outcome reporting

Disaster Relief

• Co-lead the Foundation's disaster relief program with the President, including readiness planning, rapid-response grant deployment, and coordination with national and global partners such as CUAid and Project Storm Break
• Serve as the Foundation's secondary point of contact for credit unions during disaster events

Cooperative Programs & Partnerships

• Manage and champion the Principles & Philosophy Conference in partnership with the Carolinas Credit Union League and the Carolinas CUDE Network
• Lead and grow the Carolinas CUDE Network as a community of cooperative leaders
• Represent the Foundation at credit union events, chapter meetings, and industry convenings across both Carolinas

Leadership & Team Management

• Directly supervise and support  the Program Support & Accounts Payable Coordinator, in addition to consultant/contract staff
• Provide coaching, professional development, and performance management for direct reports
• Embrace a collaborative, mission-driven team culture reflecting empathy, equity, and cooperative service
• Align program priorities with the  Foundation's strategic plan and drive measurable progress toward annual and multi-year goals

Impact & Communications Oversight

• Partner with the President on organizational planning, staff priorities, and operations, including evaluation of Foundation programs 
• Oversee a social media and storytelling strategy that captures and communicates program impact across channels
• Contribute program content for the annual Impact Report, newsletters, and board presentations

What You Bring

Education

• Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, public administration, business, communications, or a related field preferred
• Credit Union Development Educator (CUDE) designation strongly preferred, or willingness to obtain within the first year

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in the credit union movement or nonprofit sector
• Nonprofit program management, community development, philanthropy, or related experience strongly preferred
• Demonstrated success managing and mentoring staff, with a track record of building high-performing, collaborative teams
• Experience managing grants, scholarships, or fund administration programs strongly preferred
