PCG Consulting Group is seeking an experienced Healthcare Data Architect to support a major hospital revenue recovery and operational stabilization initiative. This is one of the most critical technical roles on the engagement.
The Healthcare Data Architect will analyze clinical, financial, operational, and billing data to determine how information can be reconciled into complete, claim-ready financial records. Working across the Paragon EHR and related healthcare systems, this consultant will design data reconciliation strategies, identify gaps in the revenue cycle, and support the development of automated claim reconstruction processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze end-to-end healthcare data architecture and data flow.
- Map clinical documentation to financial and billing transactions.
- Evaluate data lineage from patient encounter through claim generation.
- Identify gaps in charge capture, billing, and revenue cycle workflows.
- Design repeatable data reconciliation and claim reconstruction processes.
- Develop automated strategies to support revenue recovery.
- Create logical and physical data models and mappings.
- Collaborate with Revenue Cycle SMEs, HIM, coding specialists, and technical teams.
- Support the development of automated claim reconstruction tools.
- Produce architecture documentation and present recommendations to project leadership.
Engagement Details
- Project-Based W2 Consulting Position
- Primarily Remote
- Occasional onsite meetings in the Chicago metropolitan area as project needs require.
- Several-month engagement with the potential for extension.

Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of healthcare data architecture experience.
- Strong understanding of hospital revenue cycle and healthcare data models.
- Experience supporting hospital EHR platforms (Paragon preferred).
- Advanced SQL Server and database analysis skills.
- Experience with ETL architecture and data integration.
- Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, APIs).
- Experience with claims processing, financial reconciliation, and healthcare analytics.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Healthcare consulting experience.
- Enterprise architecture experience.
- Azure Data Factory and SSIS.
- Revenue Integrity or Revenue Cycle transformation experience.
