Rental & Repair Technicians help create a positive guest experience by providing quality equipment fitting, rental, tuning, and repair services in a fast-paced shop environment. Responsibilities may include fitting ski and snowboard equipment, operating rental systems, performing equipment tuning and repair work, assisting guests with product questions, maintaining shop organization and cleanliness, and supporting overall daily shop operations.

Successful employees are dependable, team-oriented, and comfortable working in a hands-on environment with changing operational needs throughout the day. This position requires strong attention to detail, a willingness to learn department procedures and equipment standards, and the ability to work efficiently while maintaining a high level of guest service, safety, and professionalism.

General Responsibilities:

• Rentals: fit customers with rental skis, snowboards and boots while providing friendly and respectful customer service
• Create and participate in a positive and inclusive workplace.
• Repair: repair and maintain both customer and rental skis, snowboards and boots while providing friendly and respectful customer service
• Have a working knowledge of:
• Mt. Baker Ski Area mountain policies and procedures
• Familiarity of ski area facilities and services available 
• Perform duties as trained

Qualifications:

• Willingness to learn
• Successful completion of rental and/or repair technician training by an authorized Mt. Baker Ski Area trainer

Wage & Hour Information:

• Starting rate begins at $17.13/hour with increases for experience, merit, tenure and future WA State minimum wage adjustments possible.
• This is a seasonal, variable hour position. Hours per week may vary between 5-40+ hours/week. Expected end date for position is April 18, 2027, unless otherwise approved by management.

General Physical Requirements

• Bending, twisting, lifting and moving items throughout the day
• Ability to lift and move 50 pounds (or more depending on task)
• Standing and or sitting for long periods
• Climbing and descending stairs
• Shoveling and moving snow
• Standing and walking on compact snow and ice
• Perform repetitive tasks as necessary
