LP Service Technician
Description

Summary: Performs the installation and maintenance of propane systems for customers’ homes, businesses etc. Is responsible for the maintenance of all propane plants and equipment of White River Co-op. When needed may need to assist in the delivery of propane fuel from company's storage tanks to customers on site tank.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Be courteous and have good people skills
  • Be able to communicate and solve differences of opinion with the customer
  • Maintain assigned vehicles in good working order which would include but not limited to keeping the vehicle clean and presentable, maintain records for work repairs the vehicle had
  • Drive in a safe manner
  • Be able to obtain and maintain a CDL license with all Hazmat endorsements
  • Schedules propane delivery systems installations with customers
  • Prepares production and inventory records
  • Responsible for propane departments regulatory and safety compliance in all installations of delivery systems and White River’s propane plants
  • Carries out White River’s compliance with "Duty to Warn" obligations with existing or new customers
  • May be asked at times to assist in the training of new employees in LP Delivery job responsibilities and technical duties
  • Complete all required paperwork on service work and installations, including but not limited to, tank leases signed by customers, gas safety checks, completed work orders, liability release form signed by customers
  • Other duties may be assigned

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.


Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.


Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Commercial Drivers License with HAZMAT Endorsement – Must obtain within 3 months of employment.

CETP Certified – Must obtain during 1st year of employment.
