The Project Manager is responsible for providing structure to the Professional Services Team. The Project Manager reports to the Director, Professional Services.


The Project Manager reports to the Director, Professional Services and has a broad set of responsibilities which encompasses the successful delivery of customer solutions using the delivery management methodology. The Project Manager interacts with team members to propose business to the client, with primary responsibility for estimation of effort to accomplish the proposed business solution. Once the business has been won, the Project Manager is responsible for project start-up, resource assignment, delivery management, scope management, and successful completion of the project and post mortem . The Project Manager has direct responsibility for meeting time and budget delivery targets as established by management. The Project Manager will keep team members informed to ensure timely and accurate client communication.

  1. Drive extraction of customer business requirements; map to high-level technical design or functionality specifications
  2. Establish and manage project delivery schedule
  3. Manage project expectations with Account Manager, who in turn manages the customer expectations
  4. Assign and manage resources to deliver to schedule
  5. Manage project budget
  6. Check time reporting and status reports for accuracy
  7. Approve project billings for accuracy
  8. Manage all written deliverables and perform writing/editing on project architecture

Essential job duties refer to those responsibilities that are critical and necessary to do the job, but also include the following:

  1. Create effort estimation schedule to fulfill customer solution as proposed on Statement of Work
  2. Assign resources to project
  3. Create project start-up information and project plan
  4. Conduct project kick-off meeting
  5. Manage delivery of project, including change order management
  6. Manage documents throughout project lifecycle
  7. Conduct ongoing project status meetings
  8. Escalate issues to management as appropriate
  9. Manage deliverable to customer
  10. Conduct project post-mortem
  11. Document case study and lessons learned to increase Team’s knowledge-base
  12. Participate on projects as delivery resource for writing; testing; quality assurance as appropriate

Requirements
  1. Knowledge of project management principles
  2. At least three years of project management experience
  3. Experience with Professional Services
  4. Strong leadership skills
  5. Strong communication skills, written and verbal
  6. Attention to detail and strong organization skills
  7. Ability to work effectively in team environment
  8. Strong motivation and initiative
  9. Knowledge of Microsoft products
  10. Ability to manage a budget and understand financial reports
  11. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  12. Comprehensive knowledge of course development software
