We are seeking a Senior Information Assurance professional to join a team in Reston, VA to complete the following tasks:

  • Serves as a principal advisor on all information systems matters, technical and otherwise, involving the security of an IS (classified Information System) under her/his purview.
  • Perform assessments of systems and networks within the networking environment or enclave and identify where those systems and networks deviate
  • from acceptable configurations, enclave policy, or local policy. This is achieved through passive evaluations such as compliance audits and active evaluations such as vulnerability assessments.
  • Establishes strict program control processes to ensure mitigation of risks and supports obtaining certification and accreditation of systems. Includes support of process, analysis, coordination, security certification test, security documentation, as well as investigations, software research, hardware introduction and release, emerging technology research inspections and periodic audits.
  • Assist in the implementation of the required government policy (i.e., NISPOM, ICD 503), make recommendations on process tailoring, participate in and document process activities.
  • Perform analyses to validate established security requirements and to recommend additional security requirements and safeguards.
  • Support the formal Security Test and Evaluation required by each government accrediting authority through pre-test preparations, participation in the tests, analysis of the results and preparation of required reports.
  • Document the results of Certification and Accreditation activities and technical or coordination activity and prepare the system Security Plans and update the Plan of Actions and Milestones.
  • Periodically conduct a complete review of each system's audits and monitor corrective actions until all actions are closed.
  • Review weekly information systems security audits.
  • Security configuration management.
  • Security account administration.
  • Evaluate system security plan documentation.
  • Continuous security monitoring.
Requirements
  • Bachelors degree with 8yrs or MS with 6yrs of relevant experience.
  • Candidates must have a current DOD TS/SCI security clearance with an original adjudication, or a periodic reinvestigation date, completed within the last 6 years to be considered.
  • Current IAM Level 2 Security Certification (CAP, CASP CE,CISM)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • IAM DoD level 3 (CISM, GSLC and CISSP or CISSP Associate)
  • Security +


Education/years of experience:


High School diploma/GED with 10 years of experience, or Associates degree with 8 years of experience, or Bachelors degree with 6 years of experience, or Masters degree with 4 years of experience, or PhD with 2 years of experience.


Skills & Tasks:


Exceptionally Complex, Inter- Discipline, Inter-Organizational. Can perform tasks of senior level technicians, specialists, and or managers not performed at Level 3 due to the size and/or complexity of the tasks. Individual Work/Teamwork or


Leadership/Management:


May work individually or as a key member of a senior leadership team. Oversees and monitors performance across several disciplines, and when required, takes steps to resolve issues Guidance: Provides expert guidance and direction to Government and Vendor senior level technicians and managers. Directs multiple contractor and subcontractors teams through to project completion.


Training & Certifications:


DoD 8570 compliance or information assurance certification commensurate with technical objectives and services required within the task order. Applicable software or hardware training and certifications commensurate with the technical objectives, services required, and IT environment specified within the task order.
