The graphics team at The Association of Former Students provides creative and strategic graphic support to departmental staff, programs, campus beneficiaries and affiliate organizations that promotes The Association’s brand and drives further support of The Association’s mission. This individual will serve as the Senior Graphic Designer in performing print and digital graphic design and pre-press operations, with the potential for some photography work. In addition, this individual, with direction from the Director of Marketing, will oversee workload management and prioritization as well as communication for the graphics team.
Candidates should be proficient with Adobe Creative Suite programs (i.e., InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat), as well as have a working understanding of print production. The ideal candidate must have experience in managing a team, must be an effective communicator and must be an organized multitasker able to handle a wide variety of tasks and projects at once, while meeting tight deadlines. The ideal candidate can also demonstrate skill in (i) working with team members to sort through complexity, (ii) exploring alternative courses of action, as well as (iii) determining and executing the best possible outcomes.
As lead of the graphics team, partners with internal and external customers of The Association of Former Students including staff, former students, Texas A&M representatives, and current students.
Participates and provides input on various Association-wide activities which may include:
Acts as an ambassador for The Association by meeting Team Expectations; supporting The Association’s fundraising, branding, and communications efforts; and fostering relationships with former students, current students, parents, faculty, staff and friends of Texas A&M. Occasional other duties as assigned.

Required: Bachelor’s degree in graphic design/visual communications discipline or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University.
Required: Minimum 5+ years of professional graphic design experience. Proficient knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (i.e., InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat and Lightroom). Working knowledge of PDF files and pre-press requirements. Experience managing a team.
Preferred: 5+ years professional experience in agency type environment.
Required: Self-motivated with strong written, verbal and organizational skills. Must have the ability to successfully handle multiple projects simultaneously. Must be able to effectively communicate with students, former students, Association employees, and Association leadership in a professional manner.
Preferred: Understanding of photography principles. Ability to take professional photographs a plus.
Required: Ability to operate a keyboard. Frequent use of a computer. Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Required: Ability to interact with a diverse population. Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
